it was a two part project, i believe its done but i dont have a finished pic. the birf, obviously, is the pivot for swing out carrier. but what you may not know is it comes complete with hub to lock in open/close position

All right, you guys have diverted me in another direction. Potentially.
I've found some smaller diameter LED lights at Auto Safety House that may do the trick if I decide to forget about using stock lights. Whattya think about this?

i like it but r u planning on that much of a gap between new and old bumper? are you trying to avoid cutting the stock bumper?

If it's the rear frame member you're referring to, then the gap is only an inch between them. Just enough to get hardware in there. And no I don't want to cut the frame. The height was established by bringing the top flush with bottom of the tub for corner protection.

Try flipping the center bar over, so the tapers are up, may look better with the tub lines and gain departure angle?

I used the trailer lights because they are cheap and easy to replace when I smash them. I got tied of smashing the stock lenses.
I used the pintle hook mount holes, the bumpertte holes, and the end holes.
Of course, my receiver is a little different design
but you get the point.
The little "wings" do a decent job of protecting the bottom corners.

I like it Cliff, Rick's looks good too. I would move the receiver flush and pin it behind the bumper.

A bunch of the tacos this weekend had little backup lights in their rear bumpers, clean looking and very bright.

My bumper angles forward to protect the corners. I smash the piss out of it every time we go out and it's hell for stout.

Interesting. Similar to my orginal idea but without the notches to see the lights.
How is it for clearance? Drag it much?
Is that a seperate hitch setup I'm seeing in the underside picture? What is it bolted too?

PO did all the work and I've never measured it up, but I'll pull the measurements and some close up pics tonight when i get home.
Since I have a soa I cannot imagine it dragging. I suppose it's possible. It's rock solid. It's welded to the frame so it's not going anywhere. I'll take some more pics tomorrow and post them for you.
