Budget Snorkel Review

I need to find a video of that "hot pipe melt job" to clearance the snorkel for the antenna.
I'm having trouble envisioning how that doesn't just melt a hole in it. Maybe temp dependent.

I used a heat gun and heated up the snorkel, and a spark plug remover socket and just went slowly. It worked pretty well. Definitely don't go extreme, keep testing the temps as it gets warmer until you get a nice deformation and do your best to keep the heat where you find the best results.

Hey everyone, some of the budget snorkels on this thread are not available or different, What is the best current option out there now? Looking to pick one up.

@4Beast - haven't installed this yet but can say it's clearanced for the antenna base...

The one I just ordered had it already cleared for the antenna so thankfully I didn't have to mess with it.

just looked at my order on Amazon and it appears mine was pre-clearanced as well...

Edit: Yup - ready as-is to have room for antenna base

An open question though...if studs are what hold it to the fender and bolts hold it to the A-Pillar, what are the pop-rivets for? Cheap pop-rivet gun solution suggestion?

Bolts are for attaching the bracket to the snorkel and rivets are for attaching the bracket to the a pillar. I went to harbor freight and got rivnut gun and then the corresponding flathead bolts from Lowe's to attach it. Read and saw some videos about how the rivets loosen overtime and are not good. Hit me up if you have more questions I just did mine w success a couple of weeks ago.

Had both (Safari/ARB and TJM Airtec) - the Airtec looks way better, lower profile, and no discernable impact on performance.

View attachment 1249042 Despite the fact that my template looked like origami when I pulled it from the box, everything went fairly well. I had to widen a couple of my pilot holes more than I had intended but the washers are large and everything fit nice and tight. Now on to extending the breathers!

Hey man do you have the link for this snorkel I can’t find one that says Land Cruiser on the side. There’s one I ordered didn’t work for my 100 series even though it said it wouls

Don't think the ones with LC molded on the side are made any more, just the plain knock offs. At least that's all I see on Ebay now.

I’ve seen them for every series except for our 100 series. I found one supposedly that fit my 07 and ordered it and it doesn’t have antenna cutout, body lines didn’t line up and it’s more for like a 79 series

Template was accurate. Fit well. No wierd wind noises thus far. Engine doesn't even sound that much different.
