Just an update for anyone looking to swap out the shiny stainless steel hose clamp when mounting the scoop to the top of the snorkel duct. I just ordered a black stainless steel heavy duty worm gear clamp from Stealth Clamps. If you're using the standard air scoop (I.e., not a Sy-Klone 9001 pre-cleaner), you probably want the 4.00" (3.25" - 4.125" range) clamp. In my case, I'm going to be running the Sy-Klone, so I ordered the 4.5" clamp (3.75" - 4.625" range). I'll update this post when it arrives.

Stealth Clamps
4.00" clamp is $11.34 shipped USPS First Class Mail at time of this posting

One more thing: there's a more stout option--the T-bolt clamp, but no guarantee that the adjustment range will work (I.e., I'm not sure it can be snugged down tight enough, but YMMV). The range is 4.13" - 4.42".

Race Part Solutions
4.00" T-bolt clamp is $22.46 shipped USPS Parcel Post at time of this posting

Good luck!

Nice find. My cheap butt would just scuff it with a 3M pad and spray bomb it.

I'm in the process of sourcing out a cheap-o snorkel, and I was wondering if anyone had an updated link for a quality "safari-style" snorkel?

The only "quality" one I know of is the Safari Snorkel.

That said my $80 eBay special has performed just as good for 7 years now.

Jump in. Don't over think it.

Anyone tried this snorkel on their 100?

Now if this is a rep, who made/designed it originally?

Couldn't choose that one just based on type spacing alone
Lol I intend to get this sanded down and leveled as obviously someone only had one job and failed miserably. And the whole snorkel color matched with the body.

Looks like at attempt at a TJM clone, also looks like it may not work with the US antenna location.
Thank you, I second looked at it and yes the AU spec doesn’t have our power antenna location and I’m not sure if I am ready to loose the factory antenna. Unless there is a relocation mod for it that is as good as the original.

When I got the Safari Snorkel, I wanted my local cruiser shop to do the installtion. I was uneasy about cutting through the fender and knew they would do a good job. They heated a small piece of 2" copper pipe and used it to melt an indentation into the plastic that allows the antenna to work. They had to be careful to let the plastic melt and then sanded the area to smooth it after they were done.

^ Brilliant!

Not about the dent for the antenna as much as it's about where that style enters into the fender - right where the antenna motor is. Think most that have gone with that style have just gone with a fixed Tundra or non-us manual antenna. Search around, def. some threads on both.

A strange thing that happened after my installation is that some wind noise around the left side a-pillar stopped occurring. I think the snorkel deflects the wind away from the place where the noise was occurring. So it remedied a strange wind noise problem that I was having in that area.

Just installed this one last week, Intake Snorkel Kit for 98-07 Toyota Land Cruiser 100 Series Lexus LX470 4WD | eBay - https://www.ebay.com/itm/322564953297

Template lined up well for the big hole. I followed the youtube videos and threads on here to make sure I did it correctly. Made sure to use nail polish on the snorkel bolts for the smaller holes on the fender after I drilled the large hole to have the most accurate hole cutting locations.
All I needed extra were some 10-24 bolts from lowes and the $20 rivnut tool from harbor freight. I also used RTV for the A pillar holes. I used a 4 1/2" hole saw to make the cut. Also had to buy an arbor. I think all in all around $160 to get it installed.

Looks cool. It would not work with the factory antenna motor where it is though. Similar input as the dobinsons snorkel. I like the slimmer design.
That’s what I thought of as well.
