Any Houston guys want to combine shipping/freight on our orders to save a few bucks?? @RS6tofj80 @BTUMAN and whoever else in the area?

Rich, I'm in Houston and would be hapy to do a group shipping thing if we can get it together. Sound great.

I'm in the works, expecting shipping this next week or week after? Can delay to save a few $

Let me ask Bud on Monday how many orders we'd need to make it worthwhile before you delay your shipment. ;)

Any one else in this area want to join in?

Was it confirmed whether the skids fit an LX? I'd be interested in a stage two or three depending on whether they work or not. I'm actually more interested in the sliders but I guess that's still a long time away from production.

On the stock LC/LX splash shields, the center engine splash shield, the plastic shield, and the transmission protector are all the same part number, so no issues there.

However the two outer engine splash shields that bolt to the center one have different part numbers for the LX version. Now we have looked at pictures between the shields and can't see any differences. I think there is a LX guy close to Bud that will be checking soon.

Sorry for the late responses guys, I had pretty invasive surgery on Thursday, and I'm just getting going again. I didn't realize it's already Sunday.

Hope you recover quickly from the surgery. Take it easy, we need you around for a long time!

So is it possible to order the under armor yet. I haven't been keeping up. Really looking forward to seeing his bumper too.
I'm starting a totally new build on a 2014 I picked up. So I need everything. Skid plates, bumpers, sliders, ...
So whats the word with Buds products?
Thanks,
Jim

Yep, just call to order right now. Bud is waiting to catch up on production time before allowing the website to take orders. There was quite a bit more orders that came in than expected, so he's at about 3 week lead time for skids and sliders. The rear bumper is still being developed. There is some extra piece that are being developed to make it look right. Some metal will be rolled to give flowing lines, not just hard edges. Should compliment the overall look better.

I'm getting anxious about getting skids. My stockers are hashed.

Any updates on a rear diff skid too? Like how much clearance you'll lose?

The rear diff skid is two pieces. The rear part and then the bottom part. I only welded on the rear part so no loss in ground clearance. If you want to weld on the bottom, it is the same thickness as the protector that is welded around the drain plug.

I went a step further and relocated the only thing that didn't make sense to me, the rear ABS wire that hangs low on the back of the axle. Bud's son Chip cut the tabs off and welded the on top of the axle housing. Nice and safe now.

Do you know of any plans to offer a la carte options for those of us interested in supplementing our ARB skids with suspension protection, fuel tank, etc.?

I'm in north OC, where in the LA area are you located? Did you get an idea from Bud on the number of orders for a shipping discount? I'm in for a Stage 3 in stainless, but Bud said that it might be delayed for a few weeks.

I'm in SGV but go to OC a lot. I was swamped with work but I'll call first thing in the morning (PST).

well I'll call tomorrow and place my order. I lurk a lot and haven't been really speaking up. But this is blowing my mind. I'm pretty much doing the whole shebang though not the rear diff. I'm gonna go with stainless.
I've never been a rock crawler. I started wheeling in NC while in college. But I can see now going to the near fun places in Utah and Colorado and getting hooked on some rocky challenges. I love Colorado and the pacific northwest so I have little doubt I''ll be banging some rocks.

I'm putting a 90 liter Lone ranger gas tank on my rig. I am sick of cantilevering jerry cans on the back of my truck.
My next trips are crossing Russia to Mongolia and driving through Mexico to Argentina which I have done twice before. So petrol is a major concern for me. I guess after I get the gas tank in I'll be able to fab some protection or get Bud to help.
I will probably drive out to pick my stuff up since it is my old stomping grounds and I lived their for 20 years after college. I want to go visit some old friends and catch up.
I'm too late for the Breckenridge gathering I guess. but boy would it be nice to get out of the Texas heat .
Sorry for the boring and long winded post Taco. Just wanted to jump in and let you know in case it helps with any planning.
Thanks for all your doing for us...it's unreal. Look forward to crossing paths sometime. Hope your healing well.
cheers,
Jim Lowell

Everything is available separately except for the first and second skids (radiator and engine pan), those two require each other to work right.

BudBuilt is one of the few large scale manufacturers to make everything in house. A lot of companies design things, but then find a machine shop close by to make their items in mass. It makes sense to do that sometimes, as you can focus available manpower on installations or custom projects. But for bud, he just doesn't like it that much. So whatever you want, as long as it makes sense structurally, and is the strongest way to do something, then it's your imagination.

The new website will articulate that, its whatever you want, not just what's available on the site.

I hope that makes sense and better tells what he does than just saying to give him a call?

Wow! That's awesome. We need to stay in touch, and that post was amazing, you're doing what I wish I could get to one day. Can I join?

I think Bud has some other things he could help you with. He made me an auxiliary fuel system, much simpler than a long ranger, but for my needs it works for me. He has expanded upon it for other people. Maybe something to talk to him about. Along with some additional places that equipment can be stored, low, and distributed.

I don't know, but I think there is some potential for some really cool, unique things that benifit your adventure style.

Glad you said that. I felt there must be another simpler fuel tank system but had not worked it all out yet. Yeah I started out when I waqs 20 going into the amazon and hiring and indian with a dugout. 3 months later I came out alive. So I've been wandering the globe ever since. My girlfriend is Russian so I am able to get by there and when you gewt over to Mongolia it is like Mars....that language is a big barrier. I have to have a baby sitter traveling in Russia or Ukraine but always seem to find a gorgeous girl that loves adventure.

Yeah I have been seeing so many storage places that could be used it is just amazing. I will look forward to talking with Bud and picking his brain or enlisting his expertise to perfect some of these things. The journey really is the destination. So damn much fun just getting there and working these things out
Thanks for the input
Jim
Oh by the way...yeah anyone is welcome. I live for these expeditions. And like many places it is best to travel with 3 or 4 vehicles. Especially in Siberia and Kazkstan...it is so wild and remote

What is the ETA on the rear bumper? Just bought a 200 down in MS, likely flying and driving it back to PA, would be nice to stop along the way and grab some goodies.

For the rear bumper, it will be tested (beat as hard as I can beat a bumper) during Labor Day weekend at the Appalachian Toyota Roundup. Then probably a few months after that before the first production one can go out.

As far as skid plates, sliders and such, really everything made and quite a few things that still need to be made are already paid for and reserved. There is no available stock right now, even with a rack of 10 sliders waiting to go down to powder coating.

Not to say Bud couldn't have something ready, just would need to call and set things up now and make sure that build times work for your schedule. I don't want to discourage anyone, but Bud always told me that people are happy when there is predicability. It made sense to me, so I just figured I would pass it on.

No teaser shots of the rear bumper?

Sorry for the delay. Talked to Bud earlier and he said that just three people should benefit a little on doing freight, but the savings are even more significant with 4 or more sets of sliders/skids. How many people do we have shipping to SoCal so far?

Are the sliders easy enough to remove and install so that paint touch-ups can be done off the vehicle?

Is 20* the max up angle he can put on rock sliders? I'm curious to know just how "tucked in" he could get them?
