Gotta line on new for $5,500.00....

Used blower on eBay for $1,200.00 and would think CDan or beno could complete.

Delancy, would you kindly PM me the details? Muchas thanks.

Nm- found it and bought it.

My.... Precious....

What I'm implying is I will pay to have this run to the end zone...

Oh, you're gonna pay, alright.

It's 4th and long, forcing considerations to punt.

Had I known that you were going to immediately open another page and buy that, I would've emphasized "think".

Thought you were gonna PM asking who had the NIB SC for $5,500.00

If you're going to complete what you have, don't wait to buy the parts, because they've a limited shelf life.

I'll pull mine out tomorrow and see what can be done on what's NLA, or message you a line on new.....but take a few to consider options, mebbe even talk to the old man or the youngin before spending much more.

They're both qualified counselors who've experience with much worse cases than yours.

that is some nice fab-ro-ca-shun!

get a buddy with an end-mill and machine a piece of steel bar stock and mill it down to the proper dimensions if you couldn't get a piece of strap broke like the original and the duplicate piece above.

Guys,
Here's what I'm thinking:
1. The SC on my end arrives any day now. I'll post the pictures of it when I get it.
2. If Bill / Beno thinks that fabbing something like that will work, and someone here wants to give it a go, I'll pay for the fab.
3. If #2 doesn't fly, Delancy, I WILL buy that new SC if it's still available.
Either way, I want an SC if it's possible to pull this off.

Newborama out.

CDan and I went over the parts for an SC one by one the other day and all of them are barely available so you can technically "build" an SC. But the main part missing that will not allow the SC to even be driven is the tensioner and bracket.

Someone should reverse engineer it and make a few dozen to correspond with the parts remaining in the Toyota system that Dan and I were able to see.

Oh and the worst part about it is piecing everything together is more expensive than the SC kit was from the dealer at full list price.

:(

Parts to put a first gen blower on are NOT available. The plenum and throttle body adapter are not the same as the later units.

Thanks. I made this press to create the bends. I made the dies with the correct offset and depth for the material thickness. Springs hold the die open.

Great stuff Bill. Really great stuff, as always.

Ok sports fans, we're dealing with a gen 4 SC... Bill, what are you thinking? Up for a fab?

Well, I have one that I could finish. Depending on interest and time, I could try to help you guys out.

Bill

Really you're probably better off just buying a whole kit and taking a loss on the supercharger. These parts are gonna add up quick.

Bill, extremely interested. Would you please PM me your cost / time estimates? As soon as I get the unit in on my end, I'll take plenty of pics. THANKS GUYS- this feels like problem solving on one of the Moab runs! :)

That's alot of parts to accumulate, but not impossible if you can get the cast pieces. What do the plenum, throttle body adapter, intake runner, coolant bypass pipe, and brake booster pipe cost?

I priced out piecing one together from parts.

MUD pricing brought it to about

$3251.20

I've attached the part numbers for everything still available.

Beno, THANKS. Sounds like the next step is for me to get the shipment, pull it out, and take tons of pictures....

I don't understand why this is the next step. What are the pictures for?

Darkness, I guess I was thinking it would make sense to double check what it is I actually bought off EBay... Or do you guys already know?

Ok, status:
1. package arrived, will take pictures and post tonight
2. Bill fab'd stuff on his end, and that's inbound
Stay tuned... this feels like a swan song of some kind...
