Well at finish line a month later with what should have taken a week.

After my own dumbass move using Toyota parts deal (still waiting on refund) they said they had to start investigation with fed ex to see if it was lost even though fed ex has never picked anything up. Honest idiots, despite my best attempts to apply reasoning over phone, well they’re still idiots.

Thanks to @J Mack for permashield trick, had order that since O reillys doesn’t carry nor did Napa locally. Finally got plug and gasket from Toyota of San Diego thanks @PabloCruise.

Now I’m about to take little gas bath and swap leaking plug and then take Bonnie for good drive!

Well that didn’t go well!

Sputtered little going up drive but I continued on. Figured drive to town and top off tank to completely flush new tank.

Above 20mph in second she started cutting out and has no power. Then I could get her to 3rd and max I could make was little over 40mph.

Was hoping dumb luck and swapping new fuel pump would work. Need to follow @J Mack advice and check pressure coming from the fuel pump to see if it’s delivering pressure it’s suppose to.

Has new fuel filter but probably going to change the filter and pump since I purchased two.

Called Oreillys and they don’t have anything to loan to check inline electric fuel pumps.

Was hoping to spend some time with Bonnie today but had other things in mind.

With the SNC and TBI the check engine light did come on and off which I can only guess was due to not enough fuel?
 
Quick update
Swapped new fuel filter, thought I had it fixed. Took off down road, good power. Drive 3 miles to pavement and make it to 4th gear. Then sputtering started again. Turn around, same issue which got progressively worse as I got home.

Actually barely made it home. No power sputtering when I would try and give it gas. Eventually using idle in first gear to make it up a couple inclines. Then it got to point where she wouldn’t go at all and died. Engage the clutch or take it out of gear and engine revs right up, put little load on it and nope!

Sat there less than a minute, started it and drove her the last mile without much except for little sputter here and there but never got out of 2nd.

Gonna check out the ground to the pump, make sure pump getting the power it’s suppose to before I go changing the new pump.

Does this sound like a plausible plan? Am I missing something, Surely nothing going on with fuel tank since I flushed it?

I want a fuel pressure tester but it would take me 2 hours round trip to go to Tulsa and get one.
 
It’s a SBC with TBI so no bueno there.

If I had the fuel tester I could check pressure there but as Jim said, I’m going with T in line. Ordering a tester for future peace of mind.

Love living in sticks but it dose pose challenges at times.

I’m guessing pump I bought isn’t living up to its standards.

@J Mack said this last month and trust him. Just got lazy figured I could borrow tester when needed at local O reillys but struck out there today.

Mike I will indeed, no frustration here, just disappointment that I won’t be taking cruise today or tomorrow until a tester can be sent to wife’s work.

I’ll likely swap in another pump shortly

Hard to say if old or new tank since this filter was replaced when I had original issues.

I do anticipate some debris with new tank I flushed but figured I would get further along before changing the filter. Plan was full tank, run it low and swap filters for next few tanks of fuel.

Decided to go think about it, went to pastures to look at hog damage wife reported when picking up pecans.

Evidence of pigs wasn’t evident at first but if look closely you will find it.

Well, one item you don’t see on my items to check is dropping the tank again. Of course, I will do what I need to do but I did install another tank. Filled with Evapo-rust twice and rinsed thoroughly prior to installing.

Short of pulling it again and taking it to radiator shop to do their work I am hoping it’s something else. I checked with a couple shops last spring on something else and they were no longer doing fuel tanks. I’m sure I can find a suitable option if needed. I definitely tried to mitigate potential causes but outside of having tank professionally cleaned not sure where else to go with it.
 
Yup, Reds still sitting for same reason. Ethanol sucks s*** 🍑💩🐖👈 I cleaned out looked like Egg yokes. Reason why Holley recomends Dry gas once a month. If ya take tank out again throw it out and have a custom 1 made of Stainless. At least you have a Shop, I gotta dodge weather to do mine 🤔🧐😳😲😘

Outside of that crazy expensive long range tank, @bobm know where someone can have one fabricated?

Evapo-rust will do a good job on light surface rust but heavy flaking rust is something different, I don't believe it will break that down in the amount of time you would normally let it soak.
Those chunks in your filter looked large in that photo you posted and could be blocking a line in your tank. A speedometer cable will work in a pinch to "Roto-Rooter" out a plugged hard line.
Blow air backwards and it should flow freely with the cap removed.
