Small addition to Bonnie. Wife and daughter did the crane thing at Destin Arcade, where you win something every time. Somehow we have 30 ducks and one single pig. Well only one mattered.

Last week I took off work and hauled the spare tank an hour away to old fashion radiator shop.

Owner (old veteran whose health has seen better days) sitting in his office in the old gas station. Don’t think his area had been cleaned up with papers in years and this just added to my excitement.

We talked for probably half hour about tanks he has saved over the years. I’m quite certain he may use techniques not allowed anymore.

Once that’s done it’s swap time again. My only concern is while walking out he said “see ya between tomorrow and Christmas!”

Either way I’m pretty excited I found the right guy to help.

In the series YELLOWSTONE…there is a scene where Rip walks in to pick up a pair of hand made spurs and meets the same guy !!

Well except for some odd surging still at idle just went for combination county road and highway run and Bonnie did well.

If I had my wallet and didn’t look like a homeless man in my current state I would have gone onto town.

Getting cleaned up and back to town. Always fun to see some wildlife. Had one young deer try and race me, then the flock of turkey never disappoint in this creek bottom. Sometime hogs but usually after dark or little earlier.

It’s always interesting, battery died while waiting for car wash to open as I shut her off to wait.

Great family owned tire shop not far away.

I love the homeless guy look. I know that decision and I care less some days…so I occasionally run in and just let them deal with it. You carry a different position in your community. What do you do when some recognizes you and then says “. Hey Bill, I saw doc yesterday…he’s looks like …..”😂

That’s beautiful thing, I’ve never practiced in or around this community I live close to.

I did have to do brief television spot for our company when we added some mental health options. Thinking no one would see it, I walked into small convenience store in town on way to work to get my coffee and breakfast burrito. Friendly lady behind counter hollered across store “ I seen you on TV”! It wasn’t highlight of my day, I prefer anonymity for sure.

Outside of work where I wear boots jeans and a Hawaiian shirt everyday I’m definitely dressed down for comfort.

I’ve got more miles out of these Walmart shoes than most. Small hole isn’t near enough to get rid of them!

when we picked up Bonnie from @riderjgs he told me about how he had tried tracing down the issue with trying to start at times without much luck.

Turn key single click and nada. Turn key a couple times and she fires up. Today after battery swapped with new one it did it normal click which is pretty common.

Found receipt from 2021 where solenoid and starter replaced with rebuilt one.

Thinking of swapping out started with new lightweight. High torque models to see if this helps.

Anyone have experience with SBC going this route. When I replaced starter on previous SbC I had in LV that thing was a freaking beast. Technology has to have gotten better providing better options?

If this doesn’t work possibly ignition issue?

Last ranch working holiday had me hitting the battery cable on dad’s Mini Ex with a rock to get it to start, he had cleaned everything and tightened it all up in the spring to no avail…my brother took a look and found fresh corrosion behind the lug where it bolted onto the battery clamp, a spot not previously opened up. Exact same symptom.

Keep looking at cable connections is my guess, good luck!

Thanks, connections should be first and least costly look.

Looks like Bonnie going to get upgraded.

Crawled under her short while ago noted multiple leaks starting from tranny and overdrive. So reached out to @Pigeaten. I was very impressed with Steve when he stopped by for the night. Apparently @RUSH55 was a fan also when he drove Steve from what Don said.

Just got off phone with Steve from Northwest design. Looking at what cost difference between new GM motor versus used depending on what can be found. Use rebuilt H55 I have here in shop. Install AC and updated dash gauges. He said he felt he could start on her end of October.

I know that the SBC with TBI and ranger OD with 4 speed treated Jim and Bonnie well through the years but I just feel it’s best for Kim and I to happily utilize Bonnie like we want we need to modernize her.

I just did the exact thing with my entire drive line with @Jdc1. Truck now rides and steers like an MG…

Exciting! H55 would have been my dream setup instead of that Ranger. Don't give that TBI SBC away too cheaply. It only had 20K+/- on a complete professional rebuild when you drove off. Anxious to see how it all turns out.

Those papers are just his EPA logs!
