All went pretty well. Died once while creeping in idle in Walmart parking lot.

She does surge while idling which not sure what to think of that.

Not a single hiccup in close to 40 miles in town and highway at 65-70mph.
I'm not sure what (if any) coolant passages the TBI has, but do you know if the coolant system is completely burped?

That can cause surging on some systems.

Have no idea on the burping?

About to go check things out again, on way to Tulsa and am going to buy idle control valve. Looks like readily available and seems plausible source of my issues.

They might run a coolant line or two through the TBI to keep things from icing.
I know some of the Honda engines can have a very difficult time with idle unless all the air is out of the cooling system.
Whenever I open a cooling system I ramp the front of the vehicle and use a burp funnel on the radiator inlet. Then I open the heater valve wide open and run it until I have full heat coming from the heater and the gauge shows the cooling system is at temp.

Saturday will swap out new idle controller valve and see what happens there.

Ran across super nice tank, clean inside as I’ve seen from what seller has sent. Big thanks to @knuckle47 for his willingness to help me get it from NJ to Oklahoma.

Once that’s in my possession, I’ll tackle the tank swap again.

It’s progress. Last part of the puzzle will be in place and I’ll start commuting to Tulsa again in Bonnie.

@bobm have any desire for me to ship the tank I’m taking out your way? I’m sure it’s better than what your dealing with?

New air idle controller valve replaced. When touched old one with wrench it turned, turns out it was wasn’t even finger tight.

Idle smoother and higher but had settled down after I shut her off and restarted. Now darn battery dragging after short bit of cranking. Gonna test it here shortly.

Did check out Bonnie shackle angle, think we’re good!

Clyde, he is not perfect.

Bonnie’s shackles look longer than Clyde’s. If Clyde had the same length shackles, the angle would be closer to the same, but as it is the angle isn’t too bad. It’s further in the positive action zone than most are, but not bad. Are there any caster correction wedges on Bonnie?

Clyde also has some nice custom Alcan springs 👍🏼

Agree rush, no wedges that I see.

Yeah Delancy apparently had Alcan springs made years ago. I too had them make some for 69. . Since the body of 69 going on Chris’s 76 chassis in future it would only make sense to swap those new alcans on the 69 to Bonnie.

Well, I guess I misinterpreted the comments in other thread.
It's hard to be 100% certain about anything from a single photo but....
Clyde looks about as close to perfect as one could get on a stock'ish pig front end to me. I wouldn't mess with it.

Shackles are an inch longer than oem at one end and half inch at the other. Don’t recall which end is which. Thought we put wedges in the front. Homemade lift with the slightly longer shackles and Man-a-Fre add a leafs put it up a little over two inches. All pieces from miscellaneous parts buys. Always rode well and tracked straight. Also did a double cardan ujoint to get rid of some driveshaft vibration. Extra 7 1/2 inches of the overdrive left quite a rear angle.

So the idle control valve fixed the idle issue?
What little I got to drive her today around property it didn’t surge like it had previously. There very well may have been small air leak with it being loose like it was.

Gonna take Bonnie to town again tomorrow and put her through her paces. Building up to the Tulsa run which is 100 mile round trip.
