Not much new with the 80, just some additional Solar Install that I'll detail in an upcoming post, but added 2 100W Renogy Panels on top of the Alu-Cab GEN III... I've finally reached my garage height with about a 1/2" to spare. Going with this combination from inception with the goal to maintain the ability to keep the truck in the garage year round.

Well, today the ARB drawers came out to make room for the new system.

I'm looking forward to having the truck with a dedicated full utility drawer system and keeping the fridge in and stocked full time.

Stay Tuned !!

Yes sir. I was shocked to see the size of the shipping container and if the quality of the system is anything like the container, I'm in business!! @TrekboxX gets it done!

Best,

J

Started unboxing yesterday. Everything was packaged extremely well. No damage, no drama.

Good , heavy coating for protection.

This is the slide under fridge slide with new lift shelf. This now lifts up and out of the way so you don't have to take all your items off the old style table that just hinges open.

This weekend I spent some time getting the system installed and the wiring completed. The system fit really well and I just had to make one adjustment due to the fact that I have Dynamat and Dynaliner in the truck, so the system sits a bit higher than in a stock 80.

The system is quiet and solid while driving. Now I just need to figure out where everything will live and look at doing some drawer dividers.

The install looks great! I really like my Alpha system. I'm quite pleased with the old, two surface top for the shallow drawer under the fridge slide. The new system requires that the drawer be opened fully before the top can be opened. Additionally, the brackets that allow for the cantilever take up drawer space. I'm sure some like the new option, for me the old one works better. Anyway, I have no doubt you will love your TrekBoxx system!

@Mendocino Thanks! I was intrigued with the new lift hinge and can't compare as I've never had the old design, but can certainly see your points. For me, that will be my main table for prep work and some serving and I can see me having to continually clear item off to lift the table to get smaller items underneath. I think the lift hinge will work in my situation....

I plan of carrying all my spices, utensils and smaller items in that space.

Working now to get everything placed, Anderson SB50 cut in the slide and foam in the drawer bottoms. I think I'm going to use TrekPac for the dividers.

Cheers,

John

Tonight I started the home brew TrekPak divider system.

I think it turned out ok for Under $30

Really nice! Are those original TrekPak dividers, or is there some alternative version i dont know about? $30 sound perfect.

Nope - All home brew, so here's what I did to save a bunch of $$$$$$

___________________________________________________________________________________________________
So tonight I completed the upper drawer with my home brew TrekPak. I purchased the plastic sheet, foam and spray glue at Michaels and picked up some hair pins at Target.

At this point, I'm thinking this is going to look like something out of the 3rd grade, but wanted to give it a shot, before paying for a load of TrekPak.

Here is the board I used.

I designed the system on paper and then placed the items I wanted to use in their respective locations in the drawer. First cut and complete the side sections as the front and rear measurements will need to account for the foam applied to the side sections.

Do each section at a time. Cut your desired dimensions on the sheet.

Here is the 2mm foam

Next use the Scotch 77 spray adhesive

After a light coat of adhesive~

Now place the sheet onto the foam and apply pressure. The foam bonds instantly.

Next, use a sharp razor knife to trim the foam.

Here is the board with a single side of foam

1997332

Repeat the process for the other side

1997333

Next, place the board into the drawer and use the hair pins to anchor

Here is the board attached with the pins

Took a few hours, but I'm really happy how it turned out.

Here is the bottom drawer. I used 6" high pieces, so the ability to customize by doing it yourself was well worth it. I think TP only has some pieces a bit over 4"

So, total cost of materials for both drawers was around $80. This was $40 for the 6mm high density foam on the bottom of the drawers and $40 in divider materials from the craft store.

I did some rough calculations on the TrekPac and I would have had to spend well over $600 in their individual divider kits.

This is obviously not as nice as the TrekPak product, but I'm happy with the results.

Cheers,

john~
