Bolt on turbo kit (9 Viewers)

Is all of this recommended before doing this upgrade? What is the approx cost of all this prep you have done? I am just trying to see what the total cost of this project might be as I weigh this or dropping a V8 in my truck. Everyone is also going to do an oil cooler and intercooler too right?

HG was something I’ve been wanting to do as PM, not necessarily nessecessy. Injectors were a “while your in there”, but glad I did after seeing the test results.
Everything else was just for fun- ceramic coating, powder coating, OBA kit, ect.

This is what my injectors looked like at 235,000 miles: YMMV....

Ok I got the go ahead to post the numbers.

All numbers on the same all wheel drive dyno jet. SC and Turbocharger were done on the same day back to back

Stock Before 121awhp and 170ft/lbs
TRD SC 155awhp and 238ft/lbs
Wits End TC 214awhp and 277ft/lbs


Almost 100awhp and over 100ft/lbs of torque at the wheels.

With those numbers it makes me not give a crap about installing an original supercharger either. :oops:
 
Absolutely, Joey did a great job herding cats to make this happen. Getting multiple trucks to the dyno, getting SC and TC numbers back to back, etc.

While not on the exact same truck, they are close enough to show everyone what to expect.

There was a little transmission slippage at low RPMs with the turbo kit so there still might even be a little more torque with a shift kit, but I feel like this is definitely going to go a long way to modernize the feel of an 80.

That is something Joey will have to work on. I have screenshots of pictures of the pulls, but nothing that is very good. I guess they told Joey they would get him data so he could have good visuals, but I know sometimes shops just want you to get your 3 pulls and move on.

Like this is the first pull SC vs Stock, but the max power number wasn't right because the trans shifted right at the end of the run that I cut off.

Holy crap! I would have been stoked at 160 AWHP. If this is legitimately with just the blue spring in the wastegate, I'm blown away (or is this the blue and little red?)
