Let’s talk about SC and wheeling generally. One thing I love about online six engines is the power delivery off-road is never punchy.
How does the SC affect crawling where there may be times you get up a bit in RPM due to tire spin or a need for a bit of throttle?
Just ordered a new CSF radiator for my sc’d Tacoma. Double the original capacity.SC and wheeling = lots of heat

How about throttle response in terms of unwanted sudden boost? Like on a serious technical climb where control and predictability are key? Does that favor a SC or just NA?
One thing that makes me reluctant to do anything FI or even engine swap is that I perceive the stock NA torque curve as perfect for crawling. Even the 2UZ in my Sequoia is “jumpy” in comparison although that’s not a straight apples to apples comparison.
You may add my name to the list, yeeha!!Post updated to reflect an accurate list of people willing to buy.

If there was a bolt on Turbo kit for ODBII 95+ cruisers using high quality US made parts, Borg Warner, Tial, etc. And the base kit was $3000. And an upgraded intercooler kit was available for another $1000.
How many people would be interested?
What questions or concerns would you have?
I know everyone wants more power and it is Mud so an engine swap should only cost $1000, but these are fairly realistic numbers, they are pretty steep considering the cost of entry into the 80 market is sometimes less than $4000, but to get high quality parts it would cost more than the CX racing junk.
Disclaimer, this is only an information gathering post, I personally am not in a position to put these kits together but I would certainly want to help make sure they are done right.

Just to add to what Phil is saying when the turbo spools up the power is not "jumpy"... mine is totally smooth no matter how technical.Having owned and wheel 80 series for the supercharger the supercharger did not change the way I wheeled at all. Even though I have not wheeled my turbocharged Land Cruiser I would expect the same from it mainly because nothing happens until you hit 2000 RPMs Plus
I think we all agreed water is better.I'm almost done putting together my own turbo "kit" list of items to purchase. No doubt I will forget some things and end up stretching this project out longer than planned, but need to get started in order to be completed by August due to a MOAB trip in September. I have read every page of this post and although I may have glazed over a few posts after the 4th hour that contain answers to my questions below, it looks pretty good overall.
I see it's been 10 months since the 1st post and people are not trying to rush you (and neither am I), but need to know before I go down my own path - what is the timeframe for putting this kit on the market? Are you still in the same initial price point of $3k? Finally, the $1k intercooler - was that A2A or W2A?
Thanks, Convoy

I think water to air is better at lower speeds. Air-to-air probably better at higher speeds. Mine is water to air and has been great...no detonation issues at all.
