Then had a rear driveline made up for my new axle.

And then started getting it all put together and bolted together.

Also got the caliper bracket welded on over on the other side and caliper ground down to fit my 15" wheels.

Still waiting on a brake line to show up and have to get a couple of others made still, well 1 and me bend up a couple of others or at least re-flare and cut for the right lengths.

Then decided today to go ahead and move the headlights to a more secure location since I kept hitting them and breaking them out. Also when I stretch the front and link it they would have been in the way if the tires so easier to just do it now. Also they needed new bulbs so just did it at once. I kinda dig the way they look, not to mention with em higher I should have a little better visability as well and less mud covering them.

Oh yea the 14 I got with my D60 supposedly had a Detroit rear... well it didn't, it was welded up. Kinda sucks but it looks like a decent weld job so I left it and put it in when I swapped the gears over. However the gears were trashed from what looked to be improper backlash and being set up to closely. I said F*$# IT! And put em in anyway. If nothing else they will be OK for a few runs, I will be changing the fluid after a run or two to see how much glitter comes out to gauge how soon I need to replace them. I got everything as good as I could considering the condition. Thank goodness for the 14 being easy to adjust like a Yota! And it still took forever.

Sweet good to see her getting back on the trail ... I sure miss the olde girl too

Looks like an alien!

Nice orange parts under there. Is that little thing just to protect the u-joint?

Yea the rear axle no longer has a flange to bolt to. Instead it uses straps to hold the u-joint in place. When in the rocks you will notice that the flange can take a pretty good beating without failure (my flange and yokes had some nice deep gouges from this) but the straps will have a tenancy to stretch and distort, once they do.. PLINK! you just busted a strap and threw your u-joint. With the pinion guard it will hit first and protect the straps.

I will be up at ICBM this weekend too just FYI, not with my truck (well possibly tow rig and trailer) but with a buddy in his ranger with tube bed, this will be his first actual wheeling trip of driving a vehicle so I get to be his mentor.

Got the rear brake lines all connected, cut and flared with no.leaks only to have the front right caliper start shooting fluid on me from some damn place. But I think I know what the issue is so I'll deal with it later.

Yea the 14B makes me happy seeing it under there completed finally.

And I was going to put fenders on it but the way the hood was cut and shaped from the factory the fenders are a couple of inches to short to reach the end now and the angle of them is all off when they are lined up not to interfere with the door opening and closing. I haven't given up all hope yet tho, may buy some sheet steel, cut them apart, and section as needed to get em on there. I still think that a stockish looking fender skin would make this thing just kinda pop and be more identifiable again. We will see.

More problems started last week...

Never ends with this thing. Got a thread over on pirate (link below) and am closer to finding the issue but its still drives me crazy!

Its like the converter (that is brand new!!) isn't allowing enough pressure through to fire on its own or something.

Sorry to hear it man ... Think it might be compression since the motor is close to 300k it could be tired ... I mean its been road hard and put up wet alot LOL. Have you changed the oil ?? I ran restore in it to bump up compression ...

Naw not a compression issue, it pulls vac pretty fast on the intake, and runs great when it starts. Something in the pane again but not sure what this time. Gonna fool with it some more today. When I hit the primer no fuel goes into the mixer so something there isnt right.

Guess I should mention I found my running issue last month.
Turns out my brand freaking new converter was jacked up, but by some mirracle it works with my jacked up diaphragm so thats how it is for now till I go back and fix / replace a few things in the propane system.

I took it wheeling a couple of times now but nothing crazy so far just kinda keeping it chill cause I have broke so much I guess it has me a little timid. I did take it out last weekend and got it between a rock and a tree and ended up just dumping the clutch on it and bouncing my way out of it and had no problems.

Took it to a friends house today to build the rear trac bar before I get throttle happy and tear up my new driveline. Turning out to be more of a pain in the ass than I had thought it would be. even more so because I havent hardly done anything! I feel kinda bad but its kinda nice seeing it get done, but to be fair I have offered to help with more. HE is a lot like me tho and once he starts it his way he kinda wants to finish it his way. It looks great so far tho! Dropped the cross member for the first time today to do some welding and am gonna open the hole for the t-case drain so I can actually drain the fluid in it. Also am pretty sure the PTO side cover is the leak I have so gonna try and address that as well.

Anyhow thats the update, I'm lacking in pictures for now, but will work on it.

feels good to diagnose the gremlins huh? Keep her going.

Feels great!! Some of this has been pending like the leak, but now I can drain the case I will change it out and seal the cover back up.

Don't forget the liquid sealant on the two bolt holes closest to the border of the case half. They open into the case and need sealant otherwise they will leak.

Sounds like its coming along well :)

Ya I hated that drain hole in the skid... Just never fixed it  ... Get her back on the trail the BJ will be ready by round up and patches better be there too ;)
