Yeah I got 2 rivets out pretty quick with the air hammer but that job was about to absorb me and I am not in that mood at all.

I’m in this mood......

For the last couple years I had some stark bulbs in my 60 in some old Roundeye housings and for some reason against all FJ60 wiring odds they worked great. No normal FJ60 LED issues.

When I did the motor swap I took the faded Roundeye housings out and put them in my weathered FJ40

New housings and new Stark LEDs later and damn if I did not get the normal LED problems.

Instead of screwing with it I got the whitest street legal halogens and stuck them in the KC housings.

Love the pattern these lights throw.

And the new Vision X old school Halogen spots I replaced the crappy Chinese ARB LED clones with

I did the same. I loved the light of the LED’s and hated everything that came with them.

Hello 80/100 bulbs and arb harness.

Eventually I’ll replace the s***ty arb knock off fogs but they helped me avoid all the random deer in west and central Texas so they’ll stay a little longer.

Strange what brand were the old housings? Could be that they were one of the few that worked well with LEDs. I have a set of Rampage 7" housing and even with the 80/100w bulbs they just dont seem to throw that great of light.

Gonna upgrade to the Cibie housings in the near future and then throw the bulbs in there to see if that remedies the issues I have. If not, then will go with the super bright 130% Osram or Philips.

Yeah, it is strange. Same bulb type, just different ones. Housings would not matter. Just happened to change it all and wasn’t willing to switch it all back.

The LEDs are good in my 68 FJ40 because I don’t have the brights hooked up so the dims are bright enough for all.

And about that AFI in cold weather.

14 degrees this morning and it fired right up.

Headed to get seats and tires dropped off for the FJ-45. Until I get the pickup reliable this is the biggest vehicle I own for hauling

you know, 4 lights are better than 2... just thought I'd share that with you...

Poor 4 eyed little brothers with their electric windows.......

all of my windows, doors, mirrors and gears are of the DIY variety... causation and correlation don't have to equate, you know.

I was about to ask if you had a chance to start it during the cold snap.

A carb would be a lot of fun right now!

FrontRunner rack. So far so good. I really love this thing and the looks have really grown on me.

I just got back from New Mexico on a big Overland trip in my 100 but in 2 weeks my 16 year old is going to be driving that truck so I removed all the accessories I use from that truck and installed them on the 60

I have a FrontRunner table and under rack tray that has been in my trailer for a year or so and I went to install it a few weeks ago and the round peak of the roof kept had the table hitting the center rib on the roof.

I contacted Bryan at FrontRunner and he sent me a lift kit.

I added 6mm spacers all around above the towers and I was Just able to get the table in there.

Here it is installed. Great use of space.

Because of the hole I had to cut in the back bar to make the AutoHome latch work, I was not able to use the cool supplied latch and went with the tried and true butterfly nut

Well s***. Road testing and that table sounds like a flight of F16s up there. Roof went from silent to ghastly loud.

s***. Scratch those 2 hours and $50 for the lift blocks off my life.

Just as soon as Will and I left for Boy Scouts I topped the first hill at my farm and Hit 2 deer.

I Thought something was busted on truck. Checked. Nothing but hair and s***.

Drove on. Sounded like one was stuck in my roof.

Turned out the dang table. Loud as hell. Bowled in fact.

Took it off and tossed it in the back.

Waste of time and $ bit that’s not the first or the last time.
