Just drove from Georgetown to Ft Worth doing 19.65 mpg with the AC on. I'm not sure if I like the medium spring set up, but I feel like I'm closer. It drives up to 75mph but boost in 5th gear is limited to around 10psi and averages 1100 to 1150 F* EGTs. Still more tweaking to come

Guess it's time for an update.

I went back to the softest spring and set the star wheel all the way forward. The fuel plate is a bit forward of being in the middle. The housing is back towards the driver. I'm getting good boost up to 19psi. There is turbo lag, makes me feel like I'm driving an old Porsche. It's a bit of a dog until I hit 9 psi, then the gauge quickly jumps up to 14 or 15. Have to throttle back when egt begins spiking past 1100. I think I'm gonna keep this spring in and just adjust the fuel plate.

No whale tail yet. The market has gone nuts over the air cooled engines and I can see why. If I go turbo I'll have to go with a wide body.

So what's that a dent you pullout out of that rear-right corner? Or did someone else actually cause that?

that dent was there when I bought it. It gave the truck character, but I was worried about rust.
I was on a tight schedule I couldnt stop anywhere, flew out saturday and drove back by sunday.

Thanks. Needs to be recharged with R12 or converted to R134a, otherwise runs perfectly.

From far away you can't even tell that's primer. You have to get closer. My recent purchase set the air locker installs back by at least a month.

I'd look into DIYing the lockers. It's really not that bad, especially with the full-floating rear. You need a workbench jig to hold the diff, torque wrench, red lock-tite, and some patience is all.

I thought about it. But this is one of those jobs I need to do right the first time. I'm traveling a lot and the Mrs is tired of oil spots on the driveway.

A little annoyed right now. The freon in the AC lines somehow got out. I need to take it back to the shop when I can find the time.
