Were you going to mainly use that hitch for accessories or small trailer? IE: Carrier, Bike Rack, small utility trailer, etc
I think that one has a max of 5k lbs.
Great point. For me, yes, I will not be towing any cars with this vehicle.
Here is cut and paste from
@Virgilus11
The tow hitch that you posted is very similar to the OEM that Lexus sells here and is rated to 6500 lbs. If this is not what you need ?? you can purchase a Curt hitch that is rated to 5000 lbs.
The one from Curt (rated at 5000 lbs) is attached to the rear cross member only with four bolts. Same as a 4Runner.
The OEM (rated at 6500lbs) is getting attached to the side main frame also with four bolts on each side.
From the manufacturer...
The CURT class 3 trailer hitch is the most common type of trailer hitch installed on full-size pickup trucks and SUVs. It is also found on full-size cars, crossover SUVs, minivans and mid-size trucks. That is because the class 3 packs the punch of a heavyweight hitch while still staying light on its feet. This CURT class 3 hitch offers a gross trailer weight capacity of 5,000 lbs. and a comparable tongue weight capacity of 500 lbs.
So the difference is 5000lbs vs 6500. With a price difference of $55 to $257.99??
And if we do that, then we could not post it here.....
