A cup holder made in China hanging on a truck that is , thankfully, made in Japan.

Not a permanent mod, and probably not a new idea, but a useful one and new to me. I got the idea from one of @Aloha Jen 's posts.

Sam's has 4' LED shop lights for $35. Put one up on the underside of the hood and it's like working in full sun. My eyes aren't what they used to be and this makes working on the engine enjoyable now that I can see what I'm doing:).

How does your hood open that high????

How does your hood open that high????

Probably the angle of the photo... , it opens the same as any other 80.

I did replace the gas struts as it was pretty annoying to have the hood drop on my head every time the temps got below 50 degrees, but it is stock otherwise.

Saw this in the weekend thread and I have to admit, I'm going to give this a go. Excellent idea!

It's pretty easy. I used a tutorial I found on a Jeep forum and practiced on a broom stick. This was my first time working with paracord and it was very simple.

$40-100 Depending upon cost of used mirror and other supplies.

Also, it really helps to have this:80 Series Gentex Mirror Block

I did this mod to have an outside temp and compass. However, I am beginning to like the auto-dim feature the best. If you have never driven a vehicle with the auto-dim feature it is pretty amazing. You can learn about the auto-dim feature here:

Raventai temp gauge mod. Best $13.47 I ever spent on this truck hands down.

Most paranoid I was ever driving my truck :p
But I like being able to see when my thermostat opens and stuff! Not paranoid, just keeping an eye on things...o_O
