Can you switch between Topo and Streets or did you just replace the streets data with the topo data?
Hi everyone,
please excuse my ignorance, but I know next to nothing about GPS units and I'm interested in the kenwood nav HU's: being able to upload topo maps means it's also possible to upload custom garmin-compatible driving (routable) maps? Thanks.
Yes, it's easy to switch between different maps. You go into settings and you can enable or disable the various maps you've loaded. I had to figure a lot of this stuff out on my own because the documentation provided by Kenwood/Garmin is really lacking.
I don't think it's possible to upload routes you may have created in mapsource. At least that's the case with my unit. You can create routes and enter them directly into the unit though.
You can however, create custom "points of interest" files and upload those. I do that before a lot of trips I go on. Before taking a trip, I'll find the relevant gps coordinates on line or by using google maps, create the file and upload it to the gps.
AllenTent- Go for the mb quarts in the doors, although pricy they sound incredible, you'll be very happy. But try to avoid the best buy rockford fosgate subs i had that exact setup and was not happy with the sub at all, I switched to a pioneer premier sub last year and it is louder deeper and sounded better. changing nothing but the sub. Supercamera, can you create a route while you drive it? I guess if you can't load a route, will it make one while your driving it and save it for future use?
