What is the best and cheapest rear heavy-duty rear bumper with swing-out rear tire carrier?

I'm not sure 'best', 'cheap' and 'heavy-duty' go together when it comes to bumper options, but could depend on your take on cheap. Building it yourself is about the only way I see cheap(er).

home made :hillbilly:

A used one.

I know that IPOR had a nice looking rear bumper for about 300 bucks without a swing out. I'm waiting for them to finish 'redesign' then I'll probably getm that one.

I vote for SROR personally. Jim is a standup guy - worth talking to (might cut you a deal), and makes an awesome product(s). Like i said - worth talking with at least. PLUS he can fab stuff to your specs - which is nice to have something different if you can imagine it.

I just got my front bumper and sliders from him (not even on the truck yet), but DAMN they are build for stout!

GL!

:D

First person that I know of to be quoted saying it was Keith Bontrager.

Not sure how many folks got that.....steel is real!
Still lusting for the original ti-bonty
I will be in line for the IPOR bumper as well....based on cost
From what I have read SROR is where its at in terms of quality, craftsmanship, and reputation
Maybe Jim can post his .02
Time,quality, and material cost=$

I like my 4x4labs bumper. It was not necessarily cheap, but it is strong and very functional. If you can weld, 4x4labs might be selling a kit.

Do you need the rear bumper to be heavy duty for towing or something? Or are you just after a way of carrying a spare wheel?

My 4wdsystems spare wheel carrier bolts onto the frame - through the standard bumper.

Much cheaper that Kymar or equivalent

It isn't 100% fitted in these pictures but you get the idea. You also can get just the one side.

Or you could modify a body mounted swing out spare wheel carrier as used on 80s or Hilux Surfs

I built mine and i have about $300 in metal, paint, and hardware. I think it turned out pretty good.

I like 4x4labs.
