I researched rear bumpers on and off for a while. I really liked the one that Slee Off Road sells, but I could not afford it. In the end, a fellow Cruiserhead stepped up and made one for me. I am sure that what I paid him did not do much more than cover material costs. He is a great guy, and he did me a favor building it.

If you want one on the cheap, look for a used one for sale or go the do-it-yourself route.

Good luck!

The best money spent is on a welder. Buy one, learn to use it. Miller (aka Hobart) and Lincoln both make excellent quality 120V welders if you don't have 220V service to your garage. I'm self-taught, didn't take much and now I make whatever I want or need. The materials generally are not expensive and it really is nice to be able to make or modify anything you need.

Any updates to this? I have the same question. Also if anyone knows any decent welders in north Florida area lemme know
Look through the vendors. It’s amazing how much has changed in the ten years since this thread.
BTW, did you even attempt a search of bumpers? Not long ago there was a new thread of rear bumpers.
I bought a plasma cutter, I already have a welder and built my own. The thread is in my signature line.

This is a good approach. While I was waiting for my rear bumper, I got impatient, purchased a 120V mig welder and eventually built a front bumper. In my bumper build thread, there is some good advice from experts how to get the most from a 120V mig.

I searched and that’s how I came across this

I have a Dobinsons on my 60. Nice and solid but not heavy duty as other can be.
Even with the lights in the bumper, I don’t like the fact that swig outs hide the rear light.

I manage to place the tire more in the center using adjustment provided by the manufacturer to clear the rear light. I also install my propane tank instead of using the tank support which it is to wide to my taste.

All in all, I like it, nice and functional. Very satisfied for the price

Be careful with the locking pins that hold the swig out in open position. If forced, they may twist slightly and become almost unusable. I had to order 2 to replace them.

I love my 4x4labs bumper and the quality is top notch. The features are really nice too including:
-gas struts to hold the swing outs open
-modular attachments to the swing arms (you can order with just the swing arms and build your own tire carrier etc)
-hi lift slots on both sides.
-receiver hitch and/or rear winch
rear quarter panel side protection

I like my 1992 built Kaymar. I wish it had the dual Jerry can mount but I can live without cutting it for now.

I used to have a Kaymar years ago and it was up there with the best.

Is the factory spare tire crane accessible with this bumper installed? I think I'm going to leave the tire in place and use the bumper to carry other stuff.
