Also, Pacific Mountain Cruisers is planning a Mud ‘n Snow event on the 20th. It’s a bit of a trek to Lake Pillsbury, but I’ve been itching to get out so will be going. Here’s the link with more details:

That looks fun. Are any of the campgrounds along 301/M1 open? We were thinking of going up this weekend for a last minute camping trip.

I’m not sure, was planning to just make a day trip out of it.

How are everyone’s schedules looking for this Sat 2/27? I am planning on getting to Hollister Hills by 1100.

Any one Interested in a near new LT285/65R18 General Grabber ATX tire? Would be a perfect candidate for a spare or add into a 5 tire rotation. Has less then 5k on it and about a year old.....free to a good home.

I think I am good to meet at 11. Unfortunately, I will probably only be able to play for a couple of hours, but it'll be nice to get out for the day.

Excellent! I think I saw your 200 at Dissent’s shop last spring. Looking forward to meeting up.

I'm in for this Saturday. Has anyone been to Hollister lately? Are there capacity limits?

Very cool, more the merrier. This is my first trip to Hollister. I am only aware of restrictions on camping at the park and they have been loosening up since the New Years. I’ll be packing in the wife, 2 1/2 year old daughter and a 7 month pup into the 200.

Never been myself but the website says the following ;

What is open now?
All day use facilities are now open to the public.
Very limited parking is now available. Once the park has reached its safe parking capacity, the park will be closed to vehicle entry.
Camping is open.

The Lower Ranch has been filling up super quickly on the weekends but this area is just for dirt bikes and ATVs.

The Upper Ranch is for 4WDs only and it's been getting busy lately but I haven't seen them close it off yet.

Camping seems to be full every weekend these days.

Definitely going to be busy at 11am but shouldn't be a problem.

Yeah, it may be busy, but I don’t think they would close it off unless it got to the point that people were unable to disperse appropriately. The only potential issue is that the weather is supposed to be nice, but everybody may decide to hit the coast instead. In any case, I think you are right that it will not be a problem.

I may be down a little earlier. It depends on the wife and kids. At first they weren’t Interested but now that the weather is shaping up, they are changing their tune. We’ll see. Either way, I plan on leaving Hillsborough around 8. If I am solo, I’ll be there around 9;30, if I have the family, it’ll be an hour later 😂

Dang, just got notice that my new Bilstein suspension arrives tomorrow. Going to have to sit this one out to do the install. Hope you all have a blast!

I'll probably head out of San Jose around 830-900, and will try to bring along a friend with a shiny new-to-her 80 who is new to four wheeling. Phone service isn't great in that area... any thoughts on where to meet up? I haven't been there in the last 6-8 months, but there are a couple large parking/staging areas outside the entrance to the Upper Ranch as well as Hudner Ranch. Alternatively, it could make sense to gather around one of the 4x4 playgrounds within the Upper Ranch?

I was thinking maybe the main 4x4 playground in the Upper Ranch

Sounds like most will get to the park between 0930-1100.
How about we meet up at the 4x4 obstacle course around 1100-1130? I haven’t been to the park but it looks like it’s in a central location and a good spot for some sightseeing and shenanigans.

Anyone else have comms? I have FRS and GMRS compatible radios. From what I hear cell reception is spotty.
