It's nothing that I have ever done in my life, so I wouldn't want to mess with anything in that department.
HF tools are good for most of the work I do on my truck, but when it comes to precision work, I don't trust them (especially the torque wrench).
So if I have to buy new precision tools and learn what to do, it be the same as having someone else do it for me and have peace of mind too.

So, still no dyno data... we need information!

Only information I have is don't let the monkeys at UPS handle it.

I have been the test subject many many times. I think it's time for some of you guys to step up!! ;)

I also own an Evo and after hearing and seeing all the failures with Kelfords MIVEC camshafts for EVO IX's, I am a little reluctant to use their products. However when I do the HG and freshen my top end, I'm going to look at these cams. No reviews but a relatively good rating and a 1000-5500 RPM range sounds pretty good to me.

I like that better. Lift still seems mild.

I've been looking at their website and it's nice they are an American company that give specs for duration at .050." I emailed them yesterday for some more information. Looking forward to their response.

From Camtech about their cams and compatibility:

They are new cams on standard base diameter.

Not sure if they run on standard computer as we mainly supply these to oversees customers in the middle east.

If going through all of the trouble of installing $1k worth of cams, it would be best to rebuild the head completely and lightly port and polish where possible. I also remember reading somewhere here on MUD that someone measured and calculated the real compression ratio and it was something like 8.7:1. That is a flat out LAZY compression ratio for getting any sort of performance out of a N/A motor. It is a great low ratio for boost though, but absolutely does nothing to help create NA power.

I would suggest anyone thinking of camming the 1FZ, that they don't stop there. Might as well at the VERY MINIMUM somehow find pistons in the 9.25:1 - 10:1 range. 9.75:1 might be the sweet spot, but at least squishing the mixture sufficiently will get you on the road to some N/A performance potential.

I always thought there was some untapped naturally aspirated potential in the 1FZ. If people are getting 1000+ HP out of this engine with boost, then there MUST be some hidden potential with more aggressive cams, and compression.

IMO of course. Maybe people have installed cams and high comp pistons and netted 15 hp for $4000........in which case my argument is null and void.

I was looking at pistons the other day and found that JE makes an 8.5, 10.0 and 11.5:1 piston for 1FZ's It would be tempting to do a 10:1 piston as long as I could still get it by smog. I imagine 10:1, aftermarket cams, port and polished head and maybe port matching the intake and exhaust runners would net a good gain in power and torque. I would think it would at least match or even make a little more than the 4.7.

IDK why, but Robbie's favor of the 4.6 punch seems like the best $$$/long-term owner value, until we see dyno sheets for anybody's cams.

@powderpig has more 4.5/4.6 motor experience than anybody (at least from postings that's what I've gathered - I can be totally wrong), so I rather hear about cams from him, since in my mind a 4.6 will deliver & do it on stock cams torque curve, since we have zero dyno proof of any brand of these cams, no matter the grind.

Since S/C's are again a forgone item (few strays may still be FS), a punch (and mebbe cams) are the only game for the 1FZ-FE purists.

I'm just very jaded to cams, where a punch & stock cams is something that has proven results & happy customers, from the few accounts I've read.
Grain of salt.

Those 1000 hp Saudi motors are stunning. I don't need that much, just some extra go power.

I got the Robbie special, but I don't know what the real difference is. I have no terms of comparison or dyno results. All I know is that I want more power.

Isn't CX China-made parts? Someone on here told me the parts are not of a very high quality. I have no first-hand knowledge.
