I’m shopping front bumpers and selection is larger than I previously thought. It’s nice to have choices but choices can produce a headache. I like the Higgy’s high clearance bumper and wanted to ask those who have one a question or two.

Apparently no one is running the Higgy’s front bumper. No doubt it is strong enough and would do the job. I have looked the photos over several times. Finally I noticed just how far the lower section protrudes forward of the frame rail ends. I can see jamming that into granite slabs in very steep descents. The frame ends about 1” forward of the forward most lower mount bolt hole. Their bumper looks like it extends 6” forward of that. Why? I assume I could hack that back and cap it off myself.
Yesterday I called to ask about this and the fella I spoke with was not the owner and told me he would get back to me about my assumption. No reply today.

If you want good approach angles and considering chopping your frame, look into the dissent extreme clearance front bumper. Just installed mine.

It is super close to the cooler but it clears. They include a little bolt on skid plate for the cooler area as well I just forgot to paint it so it’s not on there.
