Pretty sure it's a square-ish piece of metal on a rock in front of your shoe. ;)

What are the approx dimensions? Can you get a better picture? Is the X stamped in there? That kinda looks like a metal jerry can cut down to make a cover for something.

Arrggggggg, that be where the treasure is buried Matey!!!!!!

:pirate:

Fawk if I know.....
What does the other side look like (other than the reversed stamp)

is it strong enough to be a mud/snow base for a highlift jack? :thinkingoutloud:

It's a travel-sized drip pan that you can use when you go to the grocery store so you don'y pollute the parking lot. I want one for my 40!

Looks like it came off a front heater box. it has mounting tabs so I would guess the back of the front heater out of an early FJ40. What do I win?

Here ya go...

FJ40s without a factory heater just had solid sheet metal where the inlet would be. There was no insert.

Rear portion of a heater box without the rest of the heater.

Where it bolts to the firewall.

Used to mark "the Spot" until you moved it. Can't believe you did that.

It is smaller than a heater core box....
