Dude, you join social media, get me all excited, and now I’m gone for life. Fark.

Who am I going to call for obscure parts for a 15-BFT???

Onur , social media ??????????

Joe, I know: he’s @tabasco.landcruisers on Instagram.

Today, @shanko came over and helped me get the last brackets cleaned up and painted and some of the front end bracketry in place.

Here is the part number for the Terrain Tamer hose that fits the front water line. A 60 series OEM hose is available, and just needs to be cut down.

I replaced the AC idler pulley and a bunch of new hardware.

The hose is discontinued but the clamps are available. I couldn’t resist.

Front end, done for the day.

Next challenge: cleaning up the bellhousing.

Can you tell which brackets are original paint and which are freshly painted? There were a couple that were in damn good shape despite being 31 years old.

Got the semi-crusty alternator on. Crush washer part numbers attached.

The bellhousing was absolutely filthy. With liberal administration of engine degreaser, purple power, and a wire brush, I got it clean enough. The longer I scrubbed, the more I repeated the mantra “this is not a concourse truck”.

Clutch (stock Aisin) and new clutch cover bolts on, but I need to get some blue Loctite and come back and torque them to spec.

I do have a bad ass hot water/detergent/steam cleaner cabinet here , never used it in the 3 years since I got it . Might be time that thing moves to your shop ;-)

Oh Joe, it needs to move down here.

I got out of work a couple of hours early and made it over to the barn early this afternoon. @Unoman came over with Bug the yellow lab, and helped me get a lot done in a short amount of time.

The oil supply and return lines for the alternator are available, as are the banjo bolts. Assembled with new crush washers.

New throwout bearing was easy to press in and out with the shop press. Someone had made a homemade clip that holds the bearing on the arm - luckily I had a spare from a 2F on the shelf. I installed a new boot as well.

Assembled and ready for marriage.

Good thing I had lunch with @davegonz today and dropped by his place to bring home my transmission jack that had been living up at his place. It really came in handy for mating up the transmission and motor. We got her on there, and @Unoman celebrated with a Montucky Cold Snack wrapped up in one of @Onur ’s beer coozies. Time to bring the engine hoist over and get the last bits and pieces onto the motor, because I think it’s time to complete the heart transplant tomorrow. It’s been a long time coming!

Yes, and a small amount on the nose of the shaft for the pilot bearing.

I think only the h55 shift lever! I suppose we will see as I get closer.

@roma042987 I actually can’t find a rear engine hook. Luckily @shanko has two of his 12HT’s here so I bet I can steal, I mean borrow one of his.

I mocked up the new fan clutch and aftermarket fan. Couldn’t help myself.
