Got a little (masked, distanced) shop time with @davegonz, @Spallet, @The Phoenician, and @atx40er. Got the flywheel bolted up, pyro in, and later I got most of the intake and water lines on. I couldn’t find the 3 crossover to intake bolts. Fark.

I was too afraid to wire wheel and paint the flimsy heat shields. Can’t make it all perfect.

The pyro actually snugged down the heat shield nicely. I’m glad I drilled the manifold where I did- no extra holes in those shields.

Spent far too long prepping and masking the A/C bracket. I think I am almost done painting brackets. The vacuum pump is in fine shape.

@Spallet and @davegonz also helped turn down the fuel in Marilu, which I really appreciate.

I need to find a 5/8” or 16mm 90 degree heater hose. The Terrain tamer kit I bought has one to fit the heater valve that I could cut down (that hose is in good shape on my truck), but I’m gonna search around a little bit.

Anyone have a good substitute? Roma says he used a Honda hose, but @Onur already disowned me for using Hondabond, so I can’t go further down this path of sacrilege.

If it's any consolation to you Im pretty certain at least some of the hoses are made by the same manufacturer. Yamashita or something like that.

I ended up going to Napa and looking at the wall of heater hoses to find a shape I could use. I may need to go back and find another one that is leaking.

@roma042987 , I have a good hose on the left from the Terrain Tamer set. I was going to use City Racer clamps. The 90A19 is discontinued on Partsouq but might be available in the US. It's $25....Gates 5/8" is looking more and more like an acceptable compromise.

What did you use for the smaller hose from the water pipes to the turbo water line input? I reused my old one but it has seen better days.

Found an OEM replacement for the 90deg angle: 87245-14500. Ordered it.

Will explore Gates #28460 and/or Autozone #B80393 as well.

I don't think 5/8 will work I'm pretty sure its smaller. I don't remember about the other one. I either used a straight hose or matched something up from the parts store.

When I started to build this one back around 2012 you could still get a lot for a 62. I spent thousands buying every single interior part still available. You could still get a lot then, now, forget it.

I was a fool to sell that Cruiser. Truly.
