I am putting a plow on my 97 cruiser. It sits on the bump stops with the plow on it. I know I need new springs, but it would be nice to have the new springs, and air bags so I can inflate when the plow is on, and deflate when it is not on. I will not always have the plow on.

Anybody have experience putting bags in front? I see I can get them in Australia, but not in the us. And SPENDY!

I don't know of anyone here plowing with an 80. Christo Slee may have some insight for heavier springs. Dunno about bags tho.

Search is your friend, this guy have done it but not sure about the size of your plow.

I did contact Slee about th 80 plow truck they have. They just used heavy springs in the front, and the plow is never off the truck. I want to drive mine with and without the plow.

I looked at the link you sent. Quite a different plow--much lighter. The one I put on is a western ultra mount 8 footer. I made the mount from an older chevy mount. Fits under the bumper. The problem is that it is heavy. 700 + lbs. so air bags would be the answer for driving and plowing.

I know I need new springs, truck is a 97 and has 322K on it, and rusting away. But it runs and drives great for a road truck. Not afraid to put springs in, as they can be removed and put on another truck when this one gives up the ghost. I would just like to drive it and plow with it until it dies.

Sumotoy did airlift bags on the front end. He worked with airlift's tech folks on the right kit. I think he used rear bags for an f350 van. Do a search for his name and front airbags.

Parts ordered.

Air Bags and medium OME's

Money well spent, ad if the truck goes kaput, all the parts can be pulled for the next truck

Best plow truck ever! I ended up with heavy springs, and firestone air bags up front. The smallest they had fit perfectly. Has to remake the mount, but they work great! Air Lifts didn't work. They hold up to 100 LB. They have 50 right now.
