First post here, and yes I've searched the forum extensively for an answer to no avail.
Soooo, I had a front end collision that caused my front seat belts to lock up. I mailed them to Safety Restore to fix them and USPS damaged and/or lost them. Now I'm trying to avoid shelling out $500 for OEM replacements. Has anyone successfully replaced front belts and the sensor switch with aftermarket?
I'm looking at trying this: Black 7/8" Car Safety Seat Belt Buckle Socket Plug Connector W/Warning Cable | eBay for the connector and this: 3 Point Safety Seat Belt Straps 1Set Heavy Duty Car Truck Adjustable Retractable | eBay for the belt.

Obviously I would want to ensure the airbag would still function.

Did the shipment not have some sort of insurance? USPS has included insurance for Priority, I think.

If anything on your rig is worth $500, it's the belts holding you in. I wouldn't screw around with cut-rate off brand ebay safety equipment.

If the new OEM price stings too much, find a set of OEM belts from a junkyard or part-out.

Unless you pay extra priority mail only had like $50 or $100 of insurance included

Seat belt planet may have an option

USPS insured it up to $50 or $100, still waiting on the verdict. Found OEM belts online but is gonna set me back $500+ but you're right; if I need the belts, I'll want the best

I've been hunting for seatbelts for my '84 Toyota Pickup. I wonder if this is one of those categories where liability makes the math go something like:
- Cost to produce: $10
- Cost to test and insure: $450
- Profit: $40

I've found no inexpensive options for my old truck. And yeah, @suprarx7nut... like helmets and winches - not where ya go cheap

Just ordered a set of used ones on CruiserParts.net Landcruiser Parts for $150 each. Thanks for the input fellas

Since you are getting "used" belts I would take the time to clean the belts themselves thoroughly before installing. They are off already so it will be easy to get them mostly pulled apart and soaked/cleaned properly.

The feeling you get with a new belt from Toyota will blow your mind. You'll wonder why you didn't get one sooner.

Guess I need to get my tan ones up on eBay, parted 99 tan interior. Have belts and airbags, sorry I didn’t see your need faster.

This was the only thread i could find as close a match to my issue.

I have a blinking SRS Dash light and the dealer gave me this part number. Can someone confirm if this is for passenger or driver side?
