Would love to know who the guy is. Lol. Maybe I'll have the sticker recreated and put it somewhere else. I kind of feel like it belongs somewhere in the truck.

Like on the backside of a door panel 😉

Starting to miss the Troopy so I thought I'd recount our first few days. Lol.

We were able to drive the Troopy off the transporter. Kind of a rarity with the stuff I normally buy.

I was expecting rough....and I wasn't disappointed. She started up(after we jumped the battery...keys left in ignition) and it started right up. So not a total bust. I had studied all the seller's pics so much, I felt like I already knew the truck.

Despite it's shape, I was stoked to have a Troopy! And no rust!

All kinds of sweet details on this baby....

Hood badge....not a 70 badge....anyone know what it's from? I do.

This fine piece of work is my antenna....so many fun things going on. The coiled base. The screws....all of them....and the paint. All it needed was one of those old school Heartbeat of America bends in it....in teal or pink. Ha. Maybe this is the Heartbeat of Oman design.

Gear shift cover....sweet.

Just in case it was unclear.....this is a Toyota. Says so on the window. The window channel is actually one of the best parts on the truck. Must have been replaced at some point.

At least you have an antenna :). Can't wait to have an antenna and stereo, maybe even speakers. Your seat covers and shift cover on the other hand...

Just wait until you see what's coming up with the seat covers.

Never even tried the stereo......there was a speaker hanging down in the floorboard so I'm not holding out hope. This guy will get some of our fancy speaker pods though!

I said stereo....I meant radio. This.

I just realized I have a clock too. This must be one of the fancy ones.

And this is how the cool antenna was....um.....connected. Ha.

Something to be said about a radio that doesn't require a 62 page owners manual to operate. :)
Old school is cool.

We have been installing updated OEM vintage 90s BMW radios in some of our early M3 re-dos. They're OEM but have bluetooth added. Pretty slick setup. I don't think I will be adding Bluetooth to this one.....it will go in the parts pile.

I wish the screen on my OEM radio worked. I like not having to worry about anyone stealing a stereo. I would love to find an OEM bluetooth toyota vintage looking radio.

I think it's really simple to add bluetooth (ok....maybe not REALLY simple to do) to an OEM radio. I'll see if the guy my customer buys his Blaupunkts from does any other conversions. Would be kind of cool.

Yeah that would be cool. I would rather look at that than all the new flashy disco radio's with miniscule buttons that typically don't sound any better than OEM. Plus I can still pop in my AC/DC cassette and rock out.

For sure on the cassettes!

Looks like installing a module is pretty straight forward if you can solder on circuit boards. I would count myself out. Ha.

I have been installing some pretty plain looking head units....double dins though. They sound pretty damn good with a nice set of door speakers in the speaker pods we sell. Good setup.

I put this Sony in my 79 #1.....really simple and clean. Forcing myself to get used to not having a volume knob. I hate it but this one is tolerable.

The radio in my HZJ77 reminds me of an old table top home stereo from the 70s. Unfortunately it doesn't really pick up stations or play any of my CDs.

So it’s more like a fancy boat anchor then a sound system then ?

Pretty much! Not sure if it is the ETC system or the Stereo system but it speaks to me in Japanese also when I start the car.

Wow that's cool!

Not as cool as your seat covers or steering wheel.
