Soooo... for those interested, I’m getting no oil in the crankcase collection separator from the crankcase breather line any longer due to the new Case/ Holland dual valve cover breather. Both have vapor coming out but no more oil drips.

Line to right further back is the end of the valve cover breather line.

Crankcase breather separator I put on to collect oil before I added the dual valve cover breather. Before I installed this I had oil drops on the ground below the crankcase breather line.

Arctic air in Oregon, Crater Lake property below 0F this morning.
Got me thinking about the grid heater as it’s 25F here. Haven’t used it yet so started searching grid heater information and found a helpful chart for outside temp. and grid heater cycle time.

Back from elk hunting and what a great time in Eastern Oregon.

The geology here is spectacular. This narrow rock spine stretches across this valley for a few miles. In a few sections it actually collapsed. Should be called the Great Wall of Oregon.

Took the dodge cuz I love to cut firewood. Got a nice load of seasoned Juniper one evening.

Spotted a nice buck and herd of deer headed back to camp.

These new headlights and bulbs are such a game changer. Since being back from hunting and the hour time change it’s dark driving home now.

While I went hunting with my dad and brother in Eastern Oregon, my wife and kids went with her dad to Netarts Bay on the Oregon Coast to catch Dungeness Crab.

Well done!! Looks delish.

C’mon man, don’t boast. I’m eating my elk tag yet again, though I did nab a Cougar yesterday.

Thought it may have been you I passed on my way to Silver Lake last Sunday but I guess it was another white 60.

Wish is was me.
My cabin property is just north of the Silver Lake Road morning on HWY 97. Really looking forward to driving the 60 there but a lot of work ahead. Looking forward to meeting up with other Toyota enthusiasts there.

Black Friday plan is going to CVT in Bend and getting their Mt. Baker Hardshell Rooftop Tent.
Had some more time this afternoon to finish wiring in my Tiny Tach.

Time to start installing the front E-locker switch. Opened up the dash panel and removed the cover. The toggle switch was too big for the hole so used a fine tool and flat file to enlarge the hole to allow the toggle switch to fit.

Decided since I had enlarged one hole for the front locker I’d make room in the second for the future rear locker.

While the dash was apart figured I’d see why my dash light behind the heater wasn’t lighting up. Found the bulb is very dim.

With the bulb removed the dash lights on the Speedometer/ Dash cluster don’t light up. With the bulb in the Speedo/ Dash cluster do. The picture above is with the dimmer turned up all the way. Lowering the dimmer switch only weakens the light. Perhaps I just need a new bulb.

Been patiently waiting for a Hardshell rooftop tent and Black Friday trip to Bend. Been in touch with Jon at CVT and he said now is the time. Tents are 40% off. Below are quotes for Fiberglass and PVC.

My climate control bulb has not been working so decided it was time to replace it. Found it was actually on but very dim. Removed the bulb and my Speedhut backlighting went out. Plugged it back in and the backlighting turned back on. I’ve got 12V to the top of the bulb holder. Swapped in my dome light bulb and it didn’t even light up but my Speedhut gauges did. Dimmer is up all the way. Did you ground the Speedhut ground to the body? The bulb ground may be tied in with the Speedhut ground. Some info I found in the inverter.

Really appreciate any help. Jason

Well, how did you wire the cluster lights and dimmer? Need to know specific wire colors you tapped into in the factory harness so I can help. I covered how I did it in my Moonshine thread, and it's been working well.

Started the fun after work on figuring this wiring out.

F179B48E-DCA3-42E9-9E53-561DA45639CF.jpeg

Found the inverter. Connected both white wires to the white and green tracer and have backlighting and needles working.

Pull the bulb and dash lights go out. Need to source a wire that’s not used but works with the headlights.

Got it all figured out after my wife brought dinner to my dads and went out for the night.

Cut the white/ green tracer and spliced wire and ran to ground.

Installed a good ground lug to bond more ground wires to. Touched the white/ green tracer and the climate control bulb worked.

Since the dash was open finished installing the dash panel and front locker switch.

Located a green wire in a non used wire harness that turned on and off with the headlight switch.

Carefully put it all back in the dash. So glad that’s all figured out.
Front locker wiring is ran into the engine bay near battery and leads coming up from E-locker. Getting closer.
Thinking about a rear locker now but also going to 3.73 gears...:hmm:
Next up rear retractable seatbelts ordered from Seatbelt Planet.
