Bought a new grill on eBay for $150. Older model style (94 and before?) Fits well on my 96. I prefer this look! Comments re: damage multiplier expected, and will be duly ignored. I dig it the look, and she's a grocery getter.

I am surprised that it fits. I know that my 1991 FJ80 and 97 FZJ 80 have two very different and distinct lower valance body pieces. I learned this the hard way as cheap import versions are on Amazon for $40 bucks. The bottom plastic part must be slightly different.
More photos please.
Hi can you post a few more pics of the front of your truck? I have a Blue 96 too and have wondered about how it would look. And did you have to modify anything to make it fit? Thx
Here’s some referenceJust got a new old stock one mailed to me from Japan, it doesn’t seem to fit due to the maligned screw holes and mounts on the far right and far left. Any suggestions?
I believe this one is from a 94, came in the original toyota box with wood and everything. It was a long time finding it as I was looking for one that had the gold package as well.re drill the new one. and make it work. I am surprised it fits the metal valance below it. I have a 91 and a 97 and those are two entirely different parts. Seems like you have to change that metal valance below the grill to make this all work.
Sorry to revive this but where did you find the older style valance? I cant seem to find oneI put the earlier "toyota" grill and matching valance on my '97. Valance bolted up with no issues/mods. Grill required a bit of "dremel" tool work to allow it to sit properly and I may not have installed all of the mounting screws due to alignment issues, don't recall. I did not have to modify the truck side of things at all which was relevant in case I wanted to return to OG at any point.
In summary, you should be able to get the new grill to fit, just spend some time figuring out where the adjustments are needed and take it slow with any trimming/drilling to avoid ruining the new grill.
I’m guessing it’s the newer style?@TheGrrrrr Check the valance to see if it's the og/older or newer style.
