I did remove my exhaust camshaft last night and mic'd the #6 shim that was .001 out of limits. She measured .1117 on the ol' Mitutoyo Digi micrometer.
Using the FSM, this measurement is closest to the #8 shim, so I ordered a bunch of unnecessary ones just in case (lol). I'll likely need #6 (.1083) or #7 (.1102), but my instinct tells me #6. We will see. The valve clearance for the exhaust is .010-.014, which is arguably not a lot. However, I want it to be like my women; tight, neat, and wrinkle-free, so I'll install and remove it as often as it takes to get the right fit.
