I didn't have a choice in the matter. I needed rotors. That's the cost.

And they're still cheaper than the $3000 I spent on a big brake kit.

It's less the cost of seats and more finding a set that won't look out of place.
The good thing is that you can search worldwide. There are folks who can get what you want. With new foam, the cloths seats are very nice. How’s the old ford doing?

Which old ford? The 66 is getting ready to undergo rust repair and we picked up a low mile 351w that is getting a set of afr 165's and a cam from lunati.

Cars and trucks are an addiction as much as any drug we can name. Language is specific but the feeling is universal. AFR 165’s??

Air flow research is a company that produces aftermarket heads. The 165 has a 165cc intake runner. But will bolt to the engine with no modifications and create a pretty substantial bump in power. Coupled with the cam, headers and Holley sniper it'll be close to 400hp which for a 16 yr old girl is a lot.

I'd prefer the afr185 but they require a valve relief to be cut in the pistons.

Sounds like fun!

This happened yesterday:

A little gift for myself, from myself. Two big ass boxes full of @Delta VS gear.

It’s not like I need a running cruiser to snap insta pics right🤣

Dude! Get a grip. More work, less clicking!
Come turn wrenches with me, bro!
I did remove my exhaust camshaft last night and mic'd the #6 shim that was .001 out of limits. She measured .1117 on the ol' Mitutoyo Digi micrometer.

Using the FSM, this measurement is closest to the #8 shim, so I ordered a bunch of unnecessary ones just in case (lol). I'll likely need #6 (.1083) or #7 (.1102), but my instinct tells me #6. We will see. The valve clearance for the exhaust is .010-.014, which is arguably not a lot. However, I want it to be like my women; tight, neat, and wrinkle-free, so I'll install and remove it as often as it takes to get the right fit.

It’s a truck not an F16 (my favorite) don’t lose your bowls over one thousandth of an inch. As for me coming to wrench with you, I think I need to get my own done first. These carrier bearing nuts must be female. On top of this, the ARB won’t accept a standard nut adapter so not only am I I smoking dinner I’m now making a tool. It’s cold here.

Do you know how to put them on?

I'm guessing you have not had a lot of practice.

Good luck. My clothe seats came in the green 94 that I rolled back in 15. Now in my white 93 and still outstanding. You don’t mind paying gold prices for brake rotors so the price you will pay for clothe seats should be standard fair. Just a general announcement; I have a great 91-94 complete dash in perfect condition. It survived the roll.
Pell will buy it. :flipoff2:

I agree with your statement here. I researched quite a bit back in 2013. I was originally bent on an FJ60. Then I learned about the badassness of the 80. Back then we knew less about the 80 and much less support was to be enjoyed. I chose the 93-94 years based on the fact that it actually says TOYOTA on the front. Never mind the bus tranny, no air bags, an awesome dash, and the possibility of clothe interior.

Sure, turbo-ing is more difficult but I like my slow mule. I embrace what it is rather than trying to love part of it and make the other parts what a modern day car is. Who won, the hare or the tortoise? It’s slow and methodical but above all it’s persistent.
LX450. Always. Stay bougie!

Vipers were my first love too, Steve. Then I met the light-gray Eagle. It was love at first sight, and I forgot all about the Viper and all her bitchy avionics and her weak-ass payload. I was fortunate enough o have three flights in the Viper and one in the Eagle. I almost passed out, not from pulling 9.2 Gs but from the constant erection I had. Anyway...

I don't know enough about autos in general, so I rely on my aircraft maintenance days. No compromise maintenance! It's a good thing to adopt, albeit more expensive and time-consuming.
I got my new shims, installed everything, and the #6 exhaust is finally in spec. Now I have 15 extra shims lying about because I ordered a bunch just for SnGs. I have another 1FZ or two to build anyway, so they'll come in handy.

At some point you may want to start driving them again. Ask me how I know…

Pretty BA having such a shiny engine on the stand. Nice work!

So about that dirty ass transmission in the background. When are you going to make it shiny?
Why you looking there? Close your eyes bro. Nothing to see there.
Your 1FZ-FE sticker is misaligned. ;)
The engine is tilted. Your eyes are crossed. Your phone is crooked. The garage is sinking on one side. The sticker is fine. I have a stack somewhere; I’ll fix it.

You guys are brutal :flipoff2:

Wtf did I buy? Is this normal? I didn’t know we had to drill out and tap these things when bought new. Guess I’m using the old ones for now.
