As you may or may not know, I've collected all the mouldings for my cruiser. Although I have them, I won't install them until my cruiser undergoes her paint; however, the other day the original moulding's plastic coating was warping and I saw it was interfering with my daughter's arm when she sticks it out the window. No worries, I thought to myself, I'll simply use a razor and slice off the warped hard plastic creating a smooth despite fugly surface. My daughter's arm won't get pinched and she'll be happy. Well, my gorilla hands sliced the plastic and at the same time ripped the moulding out of its snug happy place and broke several of the plastic clips. Not wanting to use a new moulding, I replaced the clips. They're like $3 apiece so not cheap considering.
Here are pictures:
I bought 10 of em just in case I break a few more; one moulding had 6 clips.
Aside from that, I was inspecting the truck for general serviceability and found I lost a rear sway bar link nut. I tried looking for a spare and failed. Being too lazy to replace it I decided to order @LandCruiserPhil heavy-duty sway bar links and the rivnuts and tool to install the newer style bracket that mounts under the frame vs on the side of it. He's a cruiser nut and patriot so I'm excited to support his business. Now I have to decide whether I need the heavy-duty rear sway bar. More to come on that.
Still haven't heard s*** from the Air Force about whether they're going to let me retire, been waiting since October 2021 for word but they told me to expect to hear something in the next couple-few months...c'est la vie.
Other than that, I've had my cruiser for almost a year, put ~7,500 miles on her, and plan to give her another oil change and driveline lube next week. One more Blackstone oil analysis and I'll probably give it a rest as long as the lab results are gtg.
Pics of cruiser at the beach, kids catching crabs, and fire. All good things.
