procomp steelies are a little less than $100 each on 4wheelparts...not even close to 800 for 5. keep up the good work. you have a nice lineup of toys.

really? 70 bucks? I think someone tried to rape me quoting me 168/rim x 5 rims....

Meh, I started a half assed search for some rims

Just do it, these things DD 37's so easily. Then you can wheel it harder when you want some more comfort, although I hear you about the Taco - the weight of the 80 can be an advantage in the rocks (as long as you aren't hung up), but these damn things sink in anything soft.

Yeah yeah, Ill call the rim place later today. Im just triple checking the BS thing. It seems there arent too many rims available w 3.5" BS so its gonna have to be 3.75 or 4". I figure I wont have access to the tires for another month so theres lots of time to track something down.

I hear you on the sinking thing Nay. Our trails have a crapload of mud/swamp in between the rocks so youre hittin it no matter which trail youre on. Some are worse than others mind you but I never want to be stuck/sinking in water half way up my doors or worse. Hell, I was plowing water w the tacomas bug deflector and had a box full of water when I took a trail way too early in the season a couple years ago. Not a quick in and out either, it was about 200' of swampy watery hell. Not gonna put the 80 through that, I still need it for another winter of dd duty...

3.75 is perfect - I have an effective 3.5" BS with 1" spacers and stock rims, and that is almost too much. A quarter inch less would be better, and maybe even an half inch.

We get spoiled in my neck of the woods with all the dry rock - I have to take an annual snow run to really sink and get stuck :grinpimp:

Can anyone give me a reason as to why rims w 3.5-4" BS would cost more than rims with 4.5"?? Exact same rims otherwise... Thats just fing retarded!

Rant over.

Nothin to do with the 80 but....

Took the truck out of hibernation yesterday so heres a daylight shot of the front end. Looks aight..

It's always nice to now your steel rims are Moab proven. You'll sleep well tonight!

The "other places like it" part is what I find amusing.

Theyre the pro comp 98's, heavy mofos for sure. Went with 4"bs'd 17x8's.

I know. Take out the "Moab" and your rims are "Other Places Like It Proven".

Those things are gonna bend now when you wheel them.

Got em mounted while we went for a hike at some cool rapids this afternoon. My buddy Army Steve stopped by and motivated me to throw them on after supper then we took it for a ride. Drives great really. No shimmies or vibes, no rubbing at full lock..... Flexed it on a rock at the mall and no rubbing... Speedo is out about 18km at 90 km/h or something like that according to buddies Iphone.

I like it but they look small..

Ahh, the smooth ride of new tires. It's a great feeling. And they look sharp.

Your 80 has come a long way from being a beater:cheers:

Looks good...considering you stole it from an old man!

Which rapids???where??? something new?
The lack of spring runoff is driving me insane(r)
