Spare is ratchet strapped in the trunk, no way would it fit on my carrier deal.

I plan to wheel em all a little. The 80 is still my dd and winter van, my tacoma is a truck and I use it to haul stuff but its also in the best shape so Im saving it. The 60 is a toy that I plan to wheel the snot out of once I fix a couple few more things.

Mike, the rapids were f all for you Id think. Mcvitty dam or something just down old hwy 69 a bit. There were some mean looking rapids (short stretch) but I wouldnt know if youd be interested..

Anyways, the u joint on the axle end of the rear d shaft doesnt like the new tires. Went for a drive today and on the way back I could hear chirping. It just does it when Im starting from a stop and goes away once I get some speed. I greased it up today and ordered a new one so hopefully this one holds out for the weekend.... or i could drive the tacoma lol.

thanks for pics, your the man, cant wait to get my 37s

Dammit, have a vibe between 60-70 km/h now. Gonna swap the tires front to rear to see if it helps. They said they put in 10 oz worth of beads in each tire but it looks like I might have to get em balanced the old fashioned way.

the 80 looks awesome. when i had mine done on my pickup. they balanced them to see how much weight they needed and only put that amount of beads in each tire. if you can pinpoint which tire is vibrating, maybe have that one broken down and spun 180* on the rim.

nevertheless your truck looks perfect.

Thanks man. Maybe not so perfect up close but I find the tires suit it pretty good.

It has to be one of the fronts thats out of whack and Im thinkin its the ps side. I have a couple days off coming up so when I get the u joints done Ill head over to the tire place to see what they can do.

Where did your rear bumper tire carrier go? On a side note, there's a rock crawling event at Drummond Island during Memorial Day weekend.

The carrier was built around a 285 and will not fit the 37.

I was honestly really surprised at how little the overall preformance was affected. It seems to drive better on the hwy than with the 33's actually. Wouldnt stop me from doing it again.

What are you waiting for? I want to see what a 37 carrier would look like.

Yeah yeah.

Did the rearmost u joint today so it doesnt chirp anymore. Also switched the ps tires up and it seems to have gotten rid of the vibe, still have to do a hwy run with it though.

Well after driving it for roughly a month with the big meats I can honestly say there isnt that much difference in power. Granted, I dont live in the mountains but for dding and hwy use I cant really find a reason not to throw 37's on a stock geared 80.. The van was slow before and its still slow.

On another note, Im gonna give the beater some much needed/deserved love this week. Planning to touch up the bumpers and a couple spots on the body then just give er a nice cleaning.

I just got my 315's on a few weekend ago and I can say the same the jump from stock tires ti 315's was hardly noticeable. it took a bit of a hit in the fuel economy department but over all its awesome. I do drive in the mountains and the only negative I saw was it gets hot faster.

Painted the front bumper and finally washed it. Greased the birfs while I was messin around too. Gotta do the after the winter body work now...

Man I really dig that bumper! Build me one will you! Have you flexed her out yet? Are you going to do some fender trimming? I know I am pesky!:flipoff2:

Lol, I still have to do a bunch of stuff up for the 60 so no building 80 bumpers for a bit. Its really a simple one and you could get someone to do something similar up for your van.....

No trimming and yes I have flexed it with no issues that I could see. I already have the front apron and rear 1/4's trimmed though.

This is what I always said. It was a dog on stock gears and 285's, a dog on stock gears and 35's, a dog on 5.29's and stock gears, and not terribly surprisingly, it's a still a dog on 5.29's and 37's. Just use the OD off button when you need it and correct the speedo.

Offroad is another story. I had to do gears with the wheeling I do. It's still a bit tall even with the 5.29's once you go to 37's.
