I am running a 2016 6.2L EROD Crate motor with the E67 ECU and a 2014 6L80E which I believe has the T43 TCM. It was not easy to make this transmission want to allow the HP Tuners to talk to it. Thank god for nerdy engineers and super smart guys that have nothing better to do. If I were to do it over again from what I have learned I would go with the E38 ECU and a 6L80E from anything other then the 2013-2014. There were some changes made to the harness on the 2013-2014. Any of these combinations most likely will work if you have the knowledge and some support from guys that have been down this road. I will say from what my builder tells me that all the headaches and hours spent trying to make it work together was worth it. He doesn't want me to pick up my cruiser (says he want's to keep it) and it drives like a dream. The combo 6.2 w/ 6L80E is near perfect power and the transmission he says is geared perfect for this truck with factory 411 diff gearing. It is around 1800 RPM at 70 mph in 6th (0.667) and 1st gear (4.027) he says gets with it. He ran my heavy beast against his 2016 GMC 2500 6.6 Diesel and claims the 80 series walked on it. I wasn't going for speed or HP just reliable and solid power for offroad and pulling trailers up steep grades in the mountains. He says mission accomplished. I look forward to driving it and I hope it stays reliable like it was in the past.

4L60 tailhousings

I'm familiar with the two different tail housing styles. I guess it wasn't really a question, just noting it as being odd that one adapter has been showing "out of stock" even though it appears to be the same as the other that is "in stock". Just doesn't have an additional, but separate piece in the box.

Any info on their description of the t-case needing to be disassembled? I've never noticed it mentioned, and I don't see where it would be necessary.

email Mark's ? I have done that several times with questions about there stuff and have gotten a quick reply

They are on holiday vacation for another week or so. Adapter has been ordered, not concerned, just curious. I'll figure it out. I'm sure someone who has used it will chime in also.

Marks doesnt reopen till the 16th, then he will have to get through the backlog of emails, but they will reply.

What is everyone using for mufflers?. I am looking for something quieter than the 70 series Flowmaster i currently have. I tried a straight through gibson muffler and that was louder. Its my wife's truck and still sounds to much like a race car. Looking for ideas so as not to have a pile of slightly used mufflers on my workbench. I am running a single muffler 3" in /out

If you want quiet, you are looking a GM stock sized muffler. They are huge. Shrink the muffler, the volume is going to go up, just no way around that fact.

When I did a 5.3 swap in my old Cherokee, I used the longest magnaflow straight through muffler available. It was not obnoxiously loud, but not as quiet as I had hoped. Certainly no where near OEM sound levels.

That being said, I had a '06 GTO. It had the best sounding exhaust IMO. Cruising around, or down the highway, it was quiet. Get on the gas, and it got throaty, sounded great. I have wondered if one were to scavenge the mufflers, cats, and resonators from a GTO exhaust and incorporate them into a duel exhaust system on a swap if they would sound more or less the same. GTO systems are fairly common used in this part of the world since a lot of guys like to upgrade.

Changed up mine again now using an L76 still got a few things to go but keen to see how it goes compared to the ls1

Well the day has finally come. I am in VA picking up the LS3 cruiser that Josh and the team from Horsepower Solutions built for me. I drove it for the first time today. I will say this......Hell Yes!

It didn't all go perfectly as planned and there were many unexpected challenges with "bolt on" parts from Mark's and a few others that had all of us scrathching our heads. In the end we did prevail and everything turned out better than I expected. Only one bug to work out that I know of at this point and it relates to a Mark's AC compressor mounting bracket that put's the pulley out of alignment and causes some belt squeal. You can't see it with the naked eye but the laser alignment shows it's off by one groove. They don't build any play into the bracket to allow you to move the AC compressor forward or backwards. They also counter sink the screws so you can't open the holes up to get the movement forward that is needed. We found this out late in the build and I will deal with it when I am back in AZ. I will follow up with everyone on the build and where it stands from a reliability factor after I complete the drive home. Lot's more detailed build info to come in the future when I get caught up and have some free time. Anyone in AZ that would like to see and experience what a 6.2 LS3 Cruiser with a 6L80E feels like please send me a pm and let's meet up and make it happen. It will put a smile on your face when you drive it. It's a lot like shooting a 50 BMG. I look forward to sharing the build knowledge and experience with anyone that has an interest in it. Pictures and videos will be posted when I get them and have the time to share.

When are you leaving? I'd like to check it out before you go if at all possible....

Wish I could get over that way this morning but it's just not gonna happen... Safe travels and put up some. Pics/video...

Well we told Sonny that Pipes sent us. Great place and great food. Sorry we missed you Pipes.

could you take a more overhead picture of the engine, im curious about the passenger side of your engine if I can keep my alternator there or not

Was going to say this. That looks like the cleanest most wrench friendly engine bay I have ever seen. I would also like to see a more overhead shot if you get around to it.

Our cruisers in Aus are slightly different the american ones, but i reckon you could just squeeze the alternator in the factory position, however it would catch all the mud and water, which obviously wrecks the bearings. Plus it would also be a veryyy tight squeeze, the top mount relocation is the way to go i reckon.

Any chance you are passing through Nashville on your return trip? Sure would like to take a look at the conversion.
