You know I'm just jealous. How fine are you planning to block it as far as primer/sealer coat?

[Edit]Can't find/remember the reply.. You're gonna epoxy the door and pannel inners and innner lowers at this point also to keep the rust points good??

OK, OK. I'll post pics tomorrow . It's not like I could have resisted anyway. . . I thrive on everyone's feedback and comments!

As for spraying the doors, hatch, and 1/4 inners. . .I've already sprayed the inside of the 1/4's, but I don't think I'm going to be able to spray the doors as I don't have a gun small enough to access the insides. So, I am leaning towards either 1) brushing the insides with the leftover RustBullet I have or 2) oiling the inners with ATF or waxoyl after paint and calling it good.

Or, maybe both . . . any thoughts?

I vote for Rustbullet, I love that stuff. I think ATF would smell up the cab.

* pic won't work...one of those put your paint into a container and it uses a propellant, basically a D.I.Y. spray paint can like for hobbies.

**Maybe even blend down enough to use an airbrush then RustBullet or Waxoyl after it's cured.

Primer, what primer?

How is it that something that looks and feels so straight in bare steel can be so crooked? Of course, we're talking thousandths of an inch at this point. . . .

I have finished blocking the doors/hatch/tailgate & half of the roof with 180 grit on an 11" block. All of the little blue dots you see indicate areas in need of a skim coat (again, thousandths thick) of metal glaze. I will then spray another 2-3 coats of 2K primer and then block with 400 grit.

Once that's all done it will be a matter of moving her to the paint booth, spraying a sealer coat (reduced epoxy) and then base/clear. It sure is getting closer.

LOL, your door looks phenomenal! Don't know if you recall the photos from earlier, but the other 3 doors were full of dents & dings so it doesn't surprise me that they need more work. I wish all 4 doors could have been as straight as the one you sent.

Figured I'd post some updates. I've been blocking my butt off. . .

Finally was ready for another round of primer today. I shot another 3 coats on everything. It's been really windy in Southern Indiana, so I sprayed in the garage (which I hate doing). On the bright side, a good buddy of mine is about 1 week away from having the paint booth in his garage up & running .

I'll start blocking everything back out with 180 again this week. Assuming all is straight I should be ready for base/clear before too long (keeping my fingers crossed).

I got the lift from Greg Smith Equipment in Indianapolis. I don't know how I would live without one . . . sure makes it nice with side jobs and projects.

Unfortunately, no. Been working 60+ hours at work & haven't touched the cruiser in over 2 weeks. . .

I'm still working ridiculously long hours at work & my shop has been full of side jobs (clutch and 2 timing belts). On top of that, one of my customers is paying me to swap a CBR 1000RR motor into a golf cart. . .

poor 60 is getting neglected.

Disconnect the fender light harness, a few bolts in the engine bay, the inner fender liner, and that's basically it. Fairly straight forward.

Don't miss the bolt right near the bottom of the a-pillar. You can't get to it unless you open the front door.

A lift sure would be handy. I have been moving mine around with manpower. Every time i need to move it i have to arrange for about 5 guys.
A pail of vodka is usually enough to get the job done.
I too am waiting to see paint on your 60, she is going to be a mint truck when complete.
