New to the group. Been wanting a Cruiser for a long time and finally pulled the trigger. This is a project I hope to spend time toying with, and enjoying with my kids. Started off with a very solid and rust free unit that has been with one family from the day it was purchased from the dealership. First upgrade, OME complete suspension kit completed in the garage friday night and Saturday with the help of my oldest son (16) and our neighbors son. Those fixed points of all four springs are a bear to get apart!

Thank you to everyone for all the info on this site! Here's a before and after.....

Great looking truck! Welcome!

Pic of that hood sticker/paint? Nice to find an unscrewed up one owner rig.

If you need to remove roof rack and cover holes without removing head liner, PM me

That patina looks like it would be worth saving
Buy a new hood, hang that one on the shop wall!!
From what I am told the original owner had a bike shop. The Cruiser was decked out with advertising and signs of that are still hanging in there with the original patina. I love it, and will definitely be maintaining it while I focus all my attention on mechanical, interior, and other areas. My first bike was a Schwinn Stingray, so I fell in love with the hood when I first saw it ...

On a side note, I torqued down all the work done on the OME kit and got to do some joyriding today. I'm extremely impressed with the ride quality. Not real excited about the rake, (rear sits a bit tall), but it is an incredibly comfortable set up. Already thinking about a tire upgrade in the near future to take advantage of the lift.

Swapping in new suspension when the old stuff is really old and stuck on there is a feat. Trial by fire! Congrats on getting that far!

FYI you can removed one leaf from each of the rear packs to help the rake.

nice truck- we typically remove a rear leaf on OME installs that have stock rear bumper.
Did you also install caster correction shims and longer brake hoses? If not, you'll want to. We keep those all in stock at our shop in Winter Park, be sure to check us out for parts as we keep pretty much anything you would need to service your 60 in stock.

My local cruiser shop swapped the taller rear shackle and the shorter front shackle to fix the stink bug look. They recommended to swap them back when the rear leafs settle down a little. I don’t know how common that is.
