Hey guys, got a hold of a rear sway bar and am wanting to mount it to my 82 fj60. My year did not come with a sway bar or the mounts on the axle. I have seen several ubolt applications for this type of situation and am having trouble locating ones for my ride. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

I just shipped a rear sway to someone else in Portland, just last week. Maybe he chimes as to how is he going to mount his.

The later 60 and all 62 housings had the mounting brackets. I'm sure you can cut some off a newer housing and weld them into yours.

Some of the fsm pages about swaybar and boushings I bought: hj60.freeforums.org • View topic - shackles, lift, suspension, swaybar, stabilizer
I got new mounts from the dealer, do you need 1= the bracket (to frame) and 2=the bar from frame bracket to stabilazer and 3=the axle bracket? and 4=the bushings?
many 4x4 diehards remove them so maybe find one of them?

New swaybar bushings: Sway Bar PU Bushing, Rear Suspension Land Cruiser Prado ID=19 mm 1-01-401
OEM compatibility: 48815-10090

I need the axle brackets, the ones that weld/mount to the axle

The original may not be available and I don't think someone will cut them off a good axle.
Original is not really solid anyway with the bolt on one side because I lost the bushing when the "click" side let go when I was driving over a pile of sand playing "canyoutilt".
Maybe it was damaged when pulled reverse out of a "canIgetstuck" game.
That is why I now use a tiewrap and yellow makes it easy visible.

So I would weld something that fits two bolts, just try to find a 60 that has them and measure a bit and copy that hight?
If you have a metal strip and a workbench it is pretty easy to bend and slam it in the right angle, the metal strip for the bushing is not really thick.

I bought a rear sway bar from @mongoose2231 recently. So far I've wire-wheeled the rust off, and painted it. Also just ordered extended rear sway bar links from @reevesci. I was just looking up the part number for the axle brackets, though I think I saw some floating around the garage. They could be for the front though. Either way, when I find the part number I'll let you know.
