Step Sliders For Toyota Land Cruiser
These are more money but they look like running boards; work like sliders. Good happy medium.
The problem with the OEM running boards is not that they are uncool, or limit clearance or whatever. All those things can be dealt with. The problem is they're attached to the body. If they seriously snag on anything they're going to torque and rip at the body of the truck.
Sliders mount to the frame and will not do this. I found a set used for $400 on 'Mud. Drove a couple hours to pick 'em up.
Then I spent $750 on a new exhaust to get the pipe up and over the frame rail but we won't talk about that. We'll just say I got sliders for $400.
