Looks good. Are you on mainland or Okinawa? I'm retiring in a few yrs and moving back to Okinawa (the wife is Okinawan).
There is a lot of salt in the air there, so continue to prep and prevent rust.
Im near Machida and theres not much rust here. picked it up from auction and only had very minor rust from flares rubbing. the truck was originally from some tokyo prefecture.

I would like to go back to stock wheels, swap an earlier 80 front grill and add an apple carplay head unit. We will need a bike rack as well.

Yup. It had a leaking front diff when I got it along with a list of needed maintenance. I got the front diff flushed, refilled, and resealed, new tie rods, new u joints front and rear, and new steering bushings.
