I am not at the house to measure them right now, but could someone give me the actual length of the housing (without mounting feet) of the 21" bar. First post lists mounting width as 609.2mm which is 23.98", I want to call Slee and see if it will work with their mount. I guess I should just measure them myself tonight so I can call tomorrow.

Thanks

You need to find a wiring diagram for that. There is a input, output, and a ground for the switch.

Edit: Found this, very similar to the 4-pin. The top pin is going to be the input from the battery, the second pin is going to go to the light bar. The 3rd pin can get power from a lit switch nearby. The bottom is going to be grounded (somewhere in the foot well). If you want to use a relay harness, the output is going to go into the relay harness, which is plugged into the light bar.

Dont quote me on this, I can't confirm it's the same switch, but I am pretty certain. What was that switches use before? I can't quite understand the top two pins...

Thanks Nick, should be able to get to this on the weekend.

Maybe this has already been answered, but 25 pages is a lot to scan through haha. Do these, whether the 20 or whatever, mount to the center tabs on an 80 series ARB?

I thought not .. but the main question remains unanswered ..

I don't think so either. And I agree that the question remains to be answered. I fully intend to measure my 21" bar this weekend and call Slee on Monday to find out if the mounts they sell will fit said light bar for mounting on the ARB. I think they sell Rigid mounts and I looked on the Rigid website to see if they had measurements but did not. I want to get their headlight harness and if the mount will work then I am going to order one of those as well.

Advance Search is your friend: Slee's post was #34. It did not specifically answer the question but I believe the info is probably there.

The 42" will fit in the Rigid Cradle, I am assuming the 22" will fit as well. I will call Slee as soon as I get a chance to breathe and ask him.

Called Slee today. ELS 21" bar measures 22 1/8" out to out. Rigid U-channel mount measures 21 1/2" inside to inside. Mount is made from 1/8" material (they think). Mount will need to flex 5/16" per side in order to fit.

I have one on the way so I will post up later this week as to how it all goes together and what kind of persuasion the two will need to play nice with each other.

Now just need to get some relays to get things wired up.

So If I understand your going to use this mount and bolt it to the ARB light tabs? But the mount needs to flex 5/16 per side in order to reach the tabs?

Lou

No, the Rigid mount is shaped like a wide shallow "U". The bottom is continuous from side to side and will bolt onto the ARB mounting points. The sides or verticals that bolt to the light are what will need to flex in order for me to get the bar in-between. It should be here Thursday or Friday and I will post up some pictures.

I have a 20" Rigid mounted on an ARB and the mounts aren't even close to the tabs.. Why not just mount it on the tube and keep everything square... You start bending the mount you'll have a hard time getting the bolt into the light ... if i understand what your doing.
Why not use the tube mounts ....or as i did just drill through the ARB

this it's what I thought I need ..

Nick this will work with your 21" bar .?

Christo it will work with the ARB lower tabs ?

This is the mount that I ordered. The bottom has several slots and if one of them doesn't line up, I can drill holes to fit the ARB light tabs. Based on my previous measurements, I think it will bolt onto the outer-most set of slots. The ends are what will have to bend out to fit the width of the ELS Bar.

Also, I want to say I am super impressed with Slee. I called and the phone was busy and I got the answering machine. Left a message and Christo himself called me back and left me a message. Unfortunately when I called back I didn't talk to him but they were very helpful and they guy I was talking with went back into the warehouse and actually measured the mount for me while I was on the phone with him. I thought that was very cool of him to check it for me before I ordered anything. Got the mount and their upgraded headlight harness on the way. This will not be my last purchase from them.

Gotcha... now I understand.... If you cut one in half you wouldn't half to bend it .....not sure how that would effect integrity to hold everything down tight but its an option if bending doesn't work
I have also ordered a few things from Slee and have spoken to Christo ... first class shop all the guys there are informative and helpful

Lou

Yeah, the cutting was discussed on the phone. It needs a shade over a 1/4" on each end, and that assumes I measured right.

I figure I will see what I have when it gets here and go from there.

keep us posted .. since I don't want to drill ( another ) hole on my ARB ..

Will do, UPS scheduled delivery for Friday.

I had a chance to start wiring last night... I ordered Expandable Braided Sleeving from Grainger to finish off the wires

Lou

Hey Lou, does Grainger just call it "expandable braided sleeving" in their system? I think I am going to see about picking up some of this. I have several wiring projects that I can use it for. Also, does it come in various sizes? I need to sleeve some 4AWG for a stereo project, you think the same size would work on that and the smaller wires for the lights?
