hi guys i am planning on doing a v-8 conversion with a turbo 400 auto trans, and my question is would it be worth it to buy the advanced adapters adapter for like 5 or 6 hundred and using the stock transfer case? pros cons?

yup, it's worth it. otherwise you'll end up with a centered rear output ( if you run a gm or ford t-case ) and the drive-shaft andgle would be severe.
besides, the cruiser t-case will hold up just fine unless you like doing "neutral-drops".

also if i put in the v-8 and tranny would i have to move the transfer case at all?

that depends on which transmission you're going to use. usually, yo do have to move the t-case towards the rear of the truck to make room for the trans and adapter, especially with the automatics. so you'll need to modify the drive shafts and remove the old rear x-member ( right behind the t-case 0 and replace it with an aftermarket unit or build your own. the aftermarkest units act as a transmission/t-case mount as well.

go V-8, ranger torque splitter (overdrive), and Orion (low range).

if your not set on an auto tranny this combo will give you a "best of both worlds" as far as high/lo range.

And with the range splitter ther is no need for that adapter.

oh yea, you do not have to mess with your driveshafts, as this set-up will allow you to keep a Toyota 4 speed and stock one piece transfer case and/or Orion in their stock location

i would perfer an auto, so i am extremely new to offroading, and would like to focus more on the driving!

expensive setup.
dont know what your price range is.

lots of options

that all depends on your personal prefferance between sticks and autos.

another item to keep in mind is future parts availability. some of the od units have come and gone and parts are hard to find.
i'm also a firm believer in less parts, less chance of failure. so if it were me, i'd opt for a 5spd trans and single lower geared t-case ( or stock case depending on your gearing needs ). that also results in less splines/couplers which results in less driveline slop.

but to each his own........
