As I understand 1VD and 1GR stay with a manual box. The new diesel is for auto transmission only. That means 3 engines are available from 2024The front looks 2024 ( modern retro ), the back looks 1985. It does look abit ridiculous sometimes, but I still prefer it over the 2007-2023 which looked like a knockoff LC100 front end.
it is a shame to see they discontinued the 1VD so soon after its introduction in the GCC...it was only introduced in our market starting MY2017 so to see it being discontinued for MY2024 seems so soon.
I think Australia might be the only market to get it now? Not sure if SA will still get it but it seems like that engines days are numbered..

It is very interesting. Are you sure about 1GR auto? Any confirmation? First time I ever heardThe 1VD has been discontinued from the GCC as of MY2024.
GCC will be available with 2 engines
the new engine 1GD auto only
1GR auto or manual
I know Australia will still get the 1VD as a manual only along with the new 1GD diesel (auto only). Not sure what other market will still get the 1VD other than Australia but I know the 1VD is gone from the GCC for MY2024.
Yes, I am sure. The spare part info is already available on the tech websites and the GCC fuel economy labels also confirm it.It is very interesting. Are you sure about 1GR auto? Any confirmation? First time I ever heard

edit: here is a video
notice the v6 badge on the rear, which means is the 1GR engine.
It’s going to continue on as the “heavy duty” gas engine for General Markets for the foreseeable future.1GR is a helluva engine. Good call on Toyota's part.
