I emailed SOR and made them aware of the defective brake shoe. They replied quickly and asked me to call them. I had a very pleasant conversation with Paul. He said he was glad I let him know because a lot of people don't. He said that was a older batch from Taiwan. He also added after the email I sent him he went and checked his inventory to insure that he did not have anymore of them going out.

I hate to say it but I had this same problem with their shoes a few years back and I didn't say anything. Looking back, I should have told them.

On a lighter note,

I will not be reusing the tailshaft washer on the three speed. I just can't resist posting the factory bag on this part

Call me to schedule pick up.

Looks Good Mark!!! Will call

I forgot to mention there were some other small parts supplied w/o charge besides the shoe retainer pins and clips. Plenty of good used stuff on the shelves happy to have a new home.

Look forward to working through the rest of the build with you Kevin.;)

Thanks again Mark for taking time out to dial in my transfer case and transmission. Your sage advise is greatly appreciated.

Taking off from Lompoc to home, can't wait to put it together.

Thanks again
Kevin

Driver's side rear motor mount is on upside down.:p

Yeah, I just stuck her up there, I will correct tomorrow. Thanks.

Time to move on, I switched the frame to the other shop. Time to start on the body. Starting to find out the good bad etc on the rear sill.

Had a question... the top lip going around the rear of the body has holes drilled in it. Was that for a factory softop (I would think footman loops for factory ) or maybe someone had snaps on for a aftermarket top.

Only rust I have seen on the bottom of the body....so far.

I also have some issues with the front on the rear fenderwells. I am going to remove the brace and look at maybe replacing the top skin on each side.

And now for the rest of the story....

Not too bad of damage compared to some of the sill repairs I have seen though on Mud.

As a note I was surprised to see only three spot welds holding the sill horn in place.

Kevin

Your bedrail holes look stock. The aftermarket snaps used smaller holes, and generally ended up a little further down the sides.

Thanks Mark,

What is the purpose of the holes ?

Thanks
Kevin

Yes, along with the threaded holes for the rear bow anchors.

Updates?
