I went by recommendations with the plating shop back in Arkansas. So if your shop has so
Good street cred it may be worth your time. I gave them a call and then sent him a couple pictures of what I had to get the ball rolling.

Did you ever resolve your pto bearing quandary?

It was Walker's Custom Chrome in Shasta Lake California. I believe he's sold his business equipment to a chrome shop outside of Marysville California. The Marysville guy does mainly bumpers. And personally I would take anything to him. I had him do a couple Hood Spears . The end product was they ended up with bubbles in the grooves . I asked him what's up with the imperfections and he said you didn't ask for Show Chrome...... LOL.

@kevos37 the PTO is still on hold. I will likely get to it later after I finish restoring the hardtop. The good news is I did figure out the bearing. But I need to have the cast iron braze welded in spots.

My son just got his permit so i removed the soft top bows and am going back to hardtop. I have been spending a lot of time doing that lately.
 
@kevos37 maybe the person your referring to as going out of business is the same one John @pardion mentioned to me a while back in CA that was top shelf in the chrome replating world. If not maybe John can provide that person’s contact info.

Sherms is close to where I live now and I got a quote. I am not sure the chrome quality he quoted me for but it was around $300 for the struts.

I haven't heard anything negative. Chromium is alot of prep work and not cheap. Post pics.
