Looks very JDM...JDM FTMFW!

It makes a lot of sense to me if you love the 60 body style and can't stand the lack of power and comfort a 80 has in comparison . Especially the coil suspension and factory lockers etc a 80 can come equiped with stock.

I just seen a 60 the other day at a shop being fit atop a 80 series chasis ....I bet that bill is gonna be cheap! Not.

hello I,M from spain and I interesting in this kit you sen me to spain?
thanks

Hello,

I am posting to see if anyone is interested in the 60 series retro kit for their 80 series cruiser. I am looking at importing 10 kits from Japan, I will be taking one, so 9 kits would be available. The kits include new fiberglass hood/bonnet, new glass fenders, glass 60 series style valance, grill, round headlamps, corner lights and all surrounds. The kit will not include the 60 series chrome bumper but they can be sourced for an additional cost if requested. I figured people will want to make their own bumper choice buy utilizing the stock one, a 60 series one or a winch style bumper. This kit will be of a high quality and made in Japan, grill and lights are not OEM Toyota but quality aftermarket items made with the same materials as the OEM grill, plastic not fiberglass. Pricing will be $3500 per kit plus shipping from the United States, or free pickup from two different locations, west coast and central Texas, and possible free delivery between the two places.

If I can get enough serious interest in the kits then I will move forward with my commitment to purchase 10 kits. PM me directly please. I know that these kits are not for everyone, some people love them and some hate them but if you are not interested I understand. The kits are not cheap and will require paint and assembly, I would also be willing to do the installations in my shop in Austin, Texas. Thank you for the interest.

Matt

Interesting, this has been discussed previously and I concur with what was said above, they wouldn't sell the kits alone and require the vehicle. Perhaps that has changed. Paint/install could double the overall cost too.

I'm not interested as I like the 80s looks. If I wanted to change the look, I'd go with the OEM OZ style headlights first since parts are much more readily available when/if a fender bender occurs. But kudos for you if you can get them here!

I was at Flex about a month or so ago and the gentlemen we were talking to was saying that Flex is in the process of phasing out the fiber glass fenders, and hood and they are going to start doing them in metal. I wonder if this has anything to do with the fiber glass manufacture selling the kits?

The ingenuity and workmanship is great, but why on earth would anyone put that much makeup on a great wheeling rig? If you want a show car, then buy a show car and do it up first class. Carnuba wax and trail rig should never be mentioned in the same paragraph!

Here's one from base.. don't know him but he's on my ship, hence the Y plate.

I'm just poking some fun. My wife (also an FZJ80 owner) thought it looked cool. I can't stop staring at it. But the green one with the black front end looks great.

Does anyone know where I can get a roof rack like the one on the red cruiser? Cheers

Did this ever get any traction?
Has anyone done this DIY yet?
@sethzilla have you done this? Haven't seen your rig since like 2019.

Not yet, but soon. About to tackle the front end bodywork and repaint my entire rig. The 60 lights will be going in to get the ball rolling. Someone also mentioned i should do a build thread so i may just do that at the same time.

Cool Beans, yeah, I officially have not seen a DIY 60 series grill & headlamp done yet.
I found this on the w.w.w.
36+21=57" my hood is 57.5" wide.
