This truck is the bomb!

Very nice 80! Well done with the build.

Any current issues?

What would you do next if you were to keep it?

Survive a long drive to a new home?

NICE! Did you have to use wheel spacers with the FJ wheels? If yes what make and thickness? Thx, Tom

Only current issue is being addressed. I removed the input housing and rear cover to inspect the tcase during the swap. It has since developed a leak in these locations so I need to drop the case and fix that. Just found it this weekend when checking it over for sale. Either way it should easily handle a long drive. I drive it infrequently now, but took it on several trips this summer including towing a small tent trailer. I suppose the rear drivers speaker grille also has busted clips on it. Need to fix that as well.

Next things I would do are bumpers front and rear. It climbs like a mountain goat. Has torque all day long. Really a fun truck...I’m just building a large expo style camper for the fam.

Sweet rig! Those 6bt's are power monsters!

I did use a small spacer. The wheels fit without but rubbed on the inner fender at full stuff in the rear. I used Spydertrax I believe.
Thx and good luck on the sale too!!!

This truck looks sweet. Great setup.

Heya- was reading the build thread and curious if some of the issues with Egts, fan , temp sensor relocation, and exhaust/tcase contact were ever sorted out or those need fixing?

Also curious if there’s been any leaks or issues with nv4500-tcase adapter which seems common on other adapter swaps?

And with the lift/37s did you do adjustable uppers in rear and longer lowers to center rear axle? dual cardan on front?

Cheers

Hi there. The egts ended up being a non issue, fan was sorted with a mechanical unit, not sure what the temp sensor issue was you mention but it is working great in the side of the block. Exhaust was also sorted to work well. No leaks from tcase adapter...mine has a seal in it so I think that helps.

On suspension, no I kept stock links and stock driveline. I did relocate the front axle a bit when doing the front washer mod for caster.

In Oregon (outside of Portland-metro) you can run what ever you want. DMV basically just checks VIN and takes your road tax.

Did you sell the truck?
