I had a 1991 4Runner with the same factory set up. They only did it on the 4Runners in 1991. I was only running 31 10.50 15’ on factory aluminum wheels.
Well since mine is a 91 that makes some sense. There are 2 blocks that seem to be welded after market, where the carrier attaches to. Maybe it's a 4 Runner carrier they fitted. Since I have that bull bar welded on, the guy/gal probably had some welding skills or hook up. :hmm:

This is my 91 when first purchased. I have so far desmoged replaced rusted driver's door. Only place it had rust rebuilt front Axle. And put 16" rims to except larger rotors and caliper's that I have already installed. rebuilt the powersteering pump. Lots more to do.

Did the larger rotors bolt right on? Did you need to do any mods for the larger calipers? I also put 16’s on mine with 10 ply 285 75 16 KO2’s and the extra weight is harder to stop.

Also interested in more info. on the larger rotors. Did you have to use a custom caliper bracket mounts?

I bought 96 rotors and pads from powerstop drilled and slotted. Got 96 caliper's from Napa that where rebuilt. Had to cut the dust shield on the back of the rotor to just use it as a spacer. Or I guess you could use 96 dust shields. Everything went together no problems 👍😊

They bolt right on the only thing you have to cut the circle out of the dust shield and reinstall the dust shield like a spacer. Or use 96 dust shields

Yes that's one of the thread I followed good information 😊

New girl, just got her. '92, 1 owner, 197K, FL vehicle whole life, bone stock, meticulous maintenance records. I've looked, anyone have a link to a radiator replacement thread (I have the radiator, just looking for pitfalls)?

thread?

Look on eBay for after market radiators and parts. There is one that is made by gbi racing for 250. And it says it's for a 91 Toyota fj80 land cruiser. I read somewhere that someone used this and works great. Make sure you put in your search on eBay year make and model. This the one I'm getting.

Where in the Panhandle? Radiator is not to bad. If nothing else look for water pump threads. Takes awhile but straight forward. Might want to do the fan clutch while you'e it. #whileyourinthere
