About and hour this evening and a couple hours the last couple days.

Nothing special, been kinda busy and waiting on a few parts. Got some parts from Cruiserdan yesterday. New attenna, license plate holder and new mirror heads. I was going to try to get away without painting the mirror arms, but once I got the new heads...decide they needed to be re-worked. Blasted those up tonight.

Drilled and tapped a couple holes for the license plate holder in the front bumper. Drilled and tapped a couple holes in the rear bumper and got the rear mounted also. Mounted the attenna, took about 5 minutes.

Made 2 primer passed sanded out on the bezel. Primed, base and cleared the other night, turned out great.

Hoping to paint those mirror arms tomorrow night, back on the Thursday. Few other parts showing up tomorrow or so and get those installed.....might even try to drive it this weekend???

Yummy!

About 2.5 on the lpb tonight.

Shot a couple coats of DP50LF on those mirror arms waited an hour or so and shot a couple coats of MTK single stage I have been using for the pewter color since the lv project. Did some other stuff in between....gave the front end a jiffy alignment with the tape measure and got all the clamps tighten up. Little misc. stuff all over to piddly to remember or mention.

Still waiting on a couple parts, hoping those will show up tomorrow so I can get some more stuff together..

Sorry if you have posted the answer before, but what color codes are you using for the pewter MTK and the bezel?

About an hour this evening on the lpb. Had to work late last night and tonight, so haven't had a ton of time to work on it the last couple days.

I did get a little care package today from Shane (a.ka. AATLAS1X ). :) I had sent my headlamp assemblies off to Shane a while ago and he had them re-cad plated for me.....they are absolutely perfect! He even assembled them for me before he sent them back :D Shane also included a little bonus package.....a complete set of OEM decals for all the little stuff on the 45. Shane wrote a lot of stuff on the back of the decals to help me know where they go, but I think I might be posting up each sticker before I put it on just to make sure. Those decals are incredible...I don't think you could ever tell the difference from the ones that come from the factory and his stuff. Thanks a ton Shane!

Included a few pics of the headlamp assembly and front bezel back on. Also got he mirror arms back on with the new mirror heads. And of course Shane's decals:grinpimp:

Thanks Matt,

You know everyone learns alot from your builds, you look at and go at them in such a different angle than most do. This for me get me to think and understand the way you look and do things and take chances with ablilties I have but never tried. So this was a way to give back for what you have tought me.

Most of those decals are common, some people have never seen just because they get removed over time. But all I think are correct for your build. If any other are needed or not apply to this model please let me know.

The top left "Improved 2F" decal, I have only seen the glue residue on valve covers where these go and never seen an actual decal until I got a valve cover from POSER that had one.

Thanks again for taking the time to post every night and for sitting there while your dial up loads pictures.

Shane

Hi Ricardo,

The OMNI MTK # is: MTK35544 A

Hope this helps, Matt

Wow. Those decals are awesome.

Oh yeah the truck's pretty cool too :D Good work Matt I've been convinced to try my hand at some similar but smaller scale stuff this summer. Shop goober in training! ;p

A very scattered couple hours on the lpb today.

Not a ton done, mostly working on other peoples stuff. Had a buddy of mine come over today and I sprayed the back of his 2006 Dodge mega truck with the tintable Sem sauce. Turned out great and he was pretty happy with how it turned out. In between coats we drove the lpb into town to grab a bit to eat.....few glamour shots before we left and one at the DQ in town.

I stopped at the gas station to fuel up and I opened the hood just to check things out and make sure everything looked ok. I noticed some fuel leaking around the site glass on the carb. The glass was cracked on the carb and it was seeping through there. After I got home I got that apart and robbed the one off the 79 FJ40 parts rig. I had a brand new carb kit that has been laying around for a couple years. I was able to use the new O ring, I think the other one cracked because someone installed to thick of O ring and when the plate tightened up it cracked the glass...maybe? Needless to say, once replaced it was fine. For the most part it drove really well, couple minor problems: Speedo doesn't work....not sure why yet? And, the coolant/temp gauge isn't working...not sure why yet on that either? I'll start working on that the next few days hopefully...

Haven't flown my plane in a while, so I went for a rip tonight....few pics of that also. Buddy of mine has a grass runway at his house....after I left the airport I flew over there about 15 miles away, landed and Bs'd a while....few pics from that this evening...:)

Matt,
what did you use for the body mounts for the bed?

I should have taken some pics of that....sorry..

I had bought kinda generic body mount kit off ebay a year or so ago for the lv. It really wasn't what I wanted, although I ended up using about 4 of the mounts for the lv and got another kit from SOR.

The mounts in that ebay kit were a 2 piece mount. Had rubber you had to use on the bottom and top, then another threaded flat stock piece on the top. Unlike the 1 piece C type mounts that are like the orginal ones. The rubber pieces were about 2" x 2" and about a 1/4" thick...guessing with a duramoter of 80A ish?? they were fairly soft. I used one under each of the mounts on the bed...they seemed to work great for that.

Hope this helps, Matt
